With Neverness to Everness launching soon, one of the biggest questions that remains is, how does the gacha work in this game?
And surprisingly, it is not just another copy of what most players are used to.
Instead of the usual “pull and pray” system, NTE mixes it with a board game mechanic, removes the 50/50 entirely, and splits characters and weapons in a better way than most gachas currently do.
A Monopoly-Style Gacha Board

The biggest change is how character pulls are presented. Instead of just hitting a button and waiting for a pretty animation, you roll dice and move across a board:
- Each tile gives you a reward
- You can land on materials, skins, or characters
- You have zero control over the roll
It is basically RNG on top of RNG, but with visible progression instead of pure blind pulls. Once you hit soft pity, the board changes, and this is where things get interesting.
No 50/50
Unlike most gachas, NTE removes one of the most hated mechanics entirely! There is no 50/50 system.
That means if you reach pity, you will get the featured character. No coin flip, no losing to standard units. The base rate is low (~1%), but once you hit soft pity, it jumps to nearly 20%, thanks to the board changing and adding more S-Rank tiles.
So instead of gradually increasing odds like usual, the game just flips into a high-chance mode.
Is It a Better System?
On paper, NTE fixes some of the biggest complaints players have with gachas by removing the 50/50 frustration, having a clear pity system, and guaranteed outcomes. But it replaces that with something else:
- Dice-based randomness
- Board progression that you cannot control
It is still RNG at the end of the day, but at least here, you can see it happening step by step, you sort of know where you stand.
If that will feel better or not will probably depend on how it goes once people get their hands on it, but so far it does not seem bad at all! It will also depend on how many Dice you can obtain in one patch for free.
There is also a beginner system and a weapon-specific banner, and we have it all detailed in our NTE Gacha system guide if you want to know more about it, as well as all the base rates for characters and more!
