If you’ve been playing New World for the last few years, then you’d be aware that some of the strongest gear in the game are the different types of Artifacts the game offers. Typically, in order to obtain an Artifact, you would need to defeat a specific boss, complete a certain challenge, or get lucky and get it out of a specific type of chest.
Once acquired, you then would need to do a handful of smaller-scaled quests in order to unlock each of its perks. What makes these artifacts so powerful is that they all have at least one very unique perk that’s only obtainable on that specific artifact, which usually provides an extremely large benefit when in combat!
For example, the “Hammer of Yeet” artifact provides a unique perk known as “Yeet”. This perk increases push distance of all Way Hammer knockbacks and also boosts the base damage of them by 10%.
These artifacts are here to stay, however, many of their perks have been adjusted…and now they have competition as “the strongest gear in the game”!
Season 10 of New World: Aeternum introduce new, powerful gear that can be part of a set. After acquiring a certain number of pieces within a certain set, you will then gain a specific bonus. Pair this with specific Infix perks on these set pieces, and you now have a hard decision to choose between an artifact and a set piece!
Although artifacts are not “as strong” as before due to these new types of gear, their unique perk is still only obtainable from that specific artifact. With that being said, there are still MANY ways you can utilize artifacts in your build, so be sure to explore and test out what works best with your playstyle!
