The recent updates to New World: Aeternum and the news around what’s coming in Season 10 has caught the eyes of many. So much so that players are starting to return to the game and prepare for the upcoming season. With the growing numbers of returning players coming back to the game, New World: Aeternum has even recently made it back to the top 100 most played games on Steam.
If you plan on coming back to New World: Aeternum, you’ll likely see a handful of updates and new content already in the game that you might not be familiar on. In order to help catch you up, we’ve provided a quick list of some of the most important things you should prioritize as you jump back into your characters!
To learn more about the full list, watch the video below. Otherwise, continue reading on and start grinding!
Tip #1: Level Your Weapons
There are many, many ways to level your weapons in New World: Aeternum, but one of the best spots to go for this is Tor To-Riven. If you ever see recruitment chat spam “x life” or “x lifering”, it means that players are grouping up and going to this location to quickly farm some weapon experience.
Rot To-Riven is located in Edengroven, and is just south of the Elysian Shrine fast travel point. This location will continuously spawn groups of mobs and named enemies over time, leading to fast weapon experience upon each kill.
If you want to gain even more experience, be sure to also use a Weapon XP Booster augment (which is available as a reward on the seasonal reward track).
Tip #2: Grind the PvP Track
One of the most important things you can do to prepare for Season 10 is actually by participating in some PvP modes. By participating in PvP, you’ll gain PvP track levels and also pick up on Azoth Salt, which is the unique currency required for purchasing items on the PvP reward track.
Season 10 will introduce all-new rewards within the PvP track, including the chance at getting some new gear with set bonuses. With this being said, be sure to stock up on azoth salt to make sure you can afford these new items as early as possible into the new season!
Tip #3: Buy Your Houses & Get Trophies
Make sure your character has three houses, allowing you to have the maximum amount of trophies within each house. Within New World: Aeternum, you can add trophies within your house for additional benefits, such as additional damage to certain mob types, a luck bonus, a boost to crafting skills, and more!
To help be even more prepared for Season 10, consider picking up three Major Lost Combat Trophies, as all of the new content coming to the game (including the new raid) will be heavily filled with Lost type mobs.
Check out this guide to see what you need to do to grind out these Lost Combat trophies.
Tip #4: Complete the MSQ
To best prepare your character (and you as a player) for season 10, make sure you fully complete the main story quest (MSQ). This is not only the best way to level up your character, but it also catches you up with the primary plot and lore within the game.
Season 10 will introduce the next part of the MSQ, which actually picks up right where it previously ended (so make sure you’re all caught up before the next season).
Tip #5: Well of Fortune
If you’ve taken a break from New World, then the Well of Fortune might be new to you. The Well of Fortune is located directly within Cutlass Keys, and uses Mystic Doubloons as it’s primary resource to purchase items with in it. Check out our Mystic Doubloon Farming Guide to stock up on these in case you’re low.
There are multiple items in the Well of Fortune that’s worth purchasing whenever available – including the Glittering Gold Key, Goldcursed Epic Crates, and Gypsum. Make sure you have a nice stack of Mystic Doubloons going into Season 10, as they may even add new items to the well!
Tip #6: Riding Experience
The best way to be the most efficient in New World is by doing things fast. In order to do that, you’re going to want to make sure your Riding skill is at least at level 200. The best way to level your Riding skill is via the in-game Mount quests that appear throughout your map. You’ll also be able to feed your mount 3 times per day with Mount Vittles for some additional experience.
Tip #7: Hoarding Caches
With every update of New World: Aeternum comes a plethora of changes. Sometimes, those changes include new rewards to existing caches and chests that may already be in your inventory! With that being said, be sure to hang on to every cache or chest that you have in your inventory (OPR caches, CTF caches, Arena caches, Major Breach caches, etc.)
There is a small chance new goodies will be included in these starting in Season 10, so try to hang on to them until then to open them!
