ARC Raiders only just launched, and players are already piecing together how progression really works. A helpful post on social media, shared by ARCRaidersNews, breaks down exactly how many extraction runs you need before each new map unlocks. If you have been wondering why you keep loading into the same area, this is why.
It turns out progression is not automatic. You ‘manually’ have to grind each zone a set number of times before the next map actually opens up.
ARC Raiders Map Unlock Requirements
Here is the current list that players are now sharing online:
- Practice Range → 4 runs
- Buried City → 6 runs
- Space Port → 12 runs
- The Blue Gate → 18 runs
You start in the Dam Battlegrounds, then grind your way forward zone by zone.

The Road To The Blue Gate
Most players just want to know how long it takes to reach the Blue Gate. Well, getting to the endgame zones will take a bit of effort. The Blue Gate sits at the final slot with a total of 18 clears needed, meaning you will be spending a decent amount of time in earlier maps before you get there.
How This Affects Your Progression
A lot of players assumed map unlocks were linked to power score or quest steps, so this discovery is pretty helpful. Now you can plan ahead and track your progress instead of wondering when the next zone will show up.
