Vault Hunters, the chaos is not slowing down anytime soon. During their big panel at PAX Australia, Gearbox pulled back the curtain on a ton of upcoming content for Borderlands 4, revealing both free updates and paid DLC arriving through the end of 2025.

From a spooky mini-event to a festive holiday DLC, plus an Invincible raid boss, there is plenty of madness coming to Kairos!

Bounty Pack 1 – How Rush Saved Mercenary Day

The first paid DLC, How Rush Saved Mercenary Day, will release on November 20, 2025, bringing holiday chaos and heartwarming carnage in equal measure.

This “Bounty Pack” is the first of four small narrative DLCs, each full of new missions, loot, and cosmetics. Rush, the cheerful Outbounders leader, is determined to bring Mercenary Day fun to Kairos, but his plans clash with Screw, the Timekeeper’s very un-festive Minister of Culture.

Expect a full-on holiday showdown, with plenty of new gear (and gifts) to grab along the way.

Each Bounty Pack also includes a Vault Card filled with rewards:

  • 4 rerollable weapons
  • 4 heads + 4 skins for Vex, Rafa, Amon, and Harlowe
  • 5 weapon skins, 5 vehicle skins
  • 4 ECHO-4 drone skins + 2 attachments

You will also get a new Digirunner vehicle, an exclusive skin, and another drone cosmetic after completing the story.

The Bounty Pack can be bought individually or as part of the Bounty Pack Bundle included in the Deluxe and Super Deluxe Editions.

Seasonal Mini-Event – Horrors of Kairos

Just in time for Halloween, Borderlands 4 is about to get creepy. The first free seasonal mini-event, Horrors of Kairos, runs from October 23 to November 6, 2025, and transforms world boss fights into a blood-soaked nightmare.

You can expect blood rain, new world boss modifiers, and exclusive Legendary loot:

  • Murmur (Tediore AR): Crits enemies under 35% HP
  • Skully (Order Grenade): Fires projectiles at nearby targets

Gearbox will also drop special SHiFT codes during the event for limited-time cosmetics:

  • “Gourd Your Loins” pumpkin head for all Vault Hunters
  • “Hex Appeal” universal weapon skin

The codes will be shared on social media soon, so keep your eyes on our latest news!

Endgame Updates – Bloomreaper the Invincible

For those who think their builds can tank anything, December will test that theory. A free update introduces Bloomreaper the Invincible, the first “raid boss” encounter coming to Borderlands 4. This boss comes with ridiculous health pools, deadly modifiers, and a shiny new set of Legendary loot for anyone brave (or reckless) enough to take it down.

The same update adds a new Ultimate Vault Hunter Mode level, turning the endgame up another rank for those who want even harder challenges.

Gearbox confirmed that these updates close the 2025 roadmap, but there is much more ahead. 2026 will bring more paid and free content, including C4SH, one of two new Vault Hunters teased as part of the upcoming Story Pack DLCs.

Weekly updates and performance patches are also continuing, with PC optimization still a top focus!

Between a haunted Kairos, a holiday feast, and a terrifying new Invincible boss, Borderlands 4’s post-launch year is full of reasons to log back in. You can come back for the loot, the laughs, or the lore, Gearbox clearly is not done giving us more stuff to blow up!
