Did Gearbox Give Borderlands 4 Players the Changes They Have Been Asking For?

Gearbox released a new update for Borderlands 4 that brings a lot of quality-of-life improvements and gameplay changes for players on all platforms.

Console players finally get a Field of View (FOV) slider, making combat feel smoother and more immersive. Beyond that, performance and stability have been boosted, including fixes for crashes, hitching, and character animation issues.

Weekly Activities & Rewards

  • Big Encore Boss
    • Now a tougher variant with a bigger loot pool.
  • Weekly Wildcard Mission
    • Features guaranteed Legendary drops for repeated farming.
  • Maurice’s Black Market Vending Machine
    • New location and rotating stock, so do not forget to check with other players for items you want!

The update also addresses issues with rewards, progression, and DLC content, making sure everyone get the loot they earned without bugs or unintended effects.

Vault Hunter & Gear Updates

Several characters and their skills received some very nice adjustments:

Gear balance changes also include buffs to Tediore weapons, Order Pistols, and Sniper Rifles, as well as improvements to VFX and targeting for certain heavy weapons.

Gameplay, UI & Visual Fixes

  • Improved hit detection, enemy pathing, and mission node spawns.
  • UI/UX adjustments like D-pad navigation in the Reward Center, dropdown menus, and inventory handling.
  • Visuals and audio change make sure you get a smoother animation, proper weapon VFX, and better in-game audio cues.

Accessibility & Settings

  • Console FOV slider now available (splitscreen adjustments included).
  • Controller haptic feedback added for Exo-Soldier skill augment.
  • Various localization, text, and accessibility improvements.

From hunting the Big Encore Boss, grinding Weekly Wildcard Missions, to exploring Carcadia Burn and the Fadefields, this patch makes the game smoother, fairer, and more enjoyable.

Plus, console players can finally use FOV to their liking, and that was a long-requested feature!
