Ubisoft has officially revealed the PC requirements for Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag Resynced, giving us a really good idea of what it will take to run the remake across different settings.

And it is immediately clear that this is not just a small upgrade. Even at the lower end, Black Flag Resynced expects pretty recent hardware:

  • Minimum (1080p / 30 FPS)
    • CPU: i7-8700K / Ryzen 5 3600
    • GPU: GTX 1660 / RX 5500 XT / ARC A580
    • RAM: 16 GB
  • Recommended (1080p / 60 FPS)
    • CPU: i5-10600K / Ryzen 5 3600
    • GPU: RTX 3060 / RX 6600 XT / ARC B580

So 1080p remains accessible, but it is clearly targeting more mid-range systems rather than older PCs.

High to Extreme, Things Get Serious

Once you move beyond 1080p, the requirements go up really fast:

  • High (1440p / 60 FPS)
    • CPU: i5-11600K / Ryzen 5 5600X
    • GPU: RTX 3080 / RX 6800 XT
  • Extreme (4K / 60 FPS)
    • CPU: i7-12700K / Ryzen 7 5700X3D
    • GPU: RTX 4090 / RX 7900 XTX

Hitting 4K at 60 FPS will require top-tier hardware, especially on the GPU side. If you do not have a more recent setup, you will have a hard time making the game run really smoothly on extreme. However, Ubisoft also mentions support for “software-based ray tracing or precomputed lighting”, which should help lower-end systems stay playable. Storage-wise, you will need 65 GB on an SSD, so that is pretty much standard for modern games.

Between the heavy GPU requirements and ray tracing across all presets, Black Flag Resynced definitely looks like it is going to be a pretty big upgrade from the old game.

That is good news for visuals, but it also means older PCs might struggle more than expected. If you want to know what exactly changes compared to the old version of the game, we made a recap of everything that you can check out as well.
