Halo Studios (previously known as 343 Industries) has recently announced that they will finally unveil what new projects they have been working on at the Halo World Championship. The HaloWC takes place from October 24th to 26th, with a “deep dive” panel scheduled for the 24th. Could this possibly be a new Halo Game?
New Halo Game?
When Halo Studios rebranded, along with the news, they also confirmed that they were shifting their focus to using the Unreal Engine 5 for future projects. People have also been wondering when the next Halo game would finally come out since Halo Infinite shifted into Maintenance Mode back in 2024. Since then, Halo Infinite has been receiving smaller updates, but the majority of the team’s focus has been on a new, undisclosed project.

Rumors are continuing to spread about what this new project could have been. One of the biggest theories is that Halo is finally coming to PlayStation. This is mainly due to past leaks, but also from the recent incredibly successful Helldivers 2 crossover. Even grunt.api, a reliable Halo dataminer and leaker, has even made teases surrounding the announcement.
A new rumor is emerging about a potential Halo Combat Evolved remake, although it lacks concrete evidence. The claims suggest that Halo Studios will use the Unreal 5 engine to remake Halo CE, potentially overhauling some of the mechanics, including the addition of sprinting—a change that the Halo community has long-standing debates over.
New Details From the Past
Along with this new announcement, lore fans have also gotten some brand new details that were left unanswered from past Halo Games. For those who haven’t kept an eye on Halo Infinite, Halo Studios has been dropping small audio logs and lore bits between updates to continue world-building. Among the recent lore drops was Canon Fodder, in accordance with celebrating Halo: Reach’s 15th birthday.

In this lore drop, we finally got names and ranks for some of the more noteworthy Elites Noble Team fights during the events of Reach. Some of these names include Field Marshal Orsu Lar ‘Ahtalee, who encounters Noble Team on multiple occasions throughout the battle of Reach, including Visegrád to New Alexandria, before ultimately meeting his end in the ship-breaking yards of Asźod.
We now know the name of the Elite Zealot Alsu ‘Ahcuree, who encounters Noble Six during the battle of Szurdok Ridge. As a bonus, fans can now download a copy of Dr. Halsey’s journal, which was originally provided to those who purchased the collector’s edition of Halo Reach. However, unlike the physical version, the digital copy includes the two pages that Halsey tore out, which were missing from the original physical edition.
All in all, do you think we will be getting a new Halo game or a possible remaster of one of the older titles? Until then, keep an eye on our latest news as the story develops.
