No Man’s Sky 6.0 Voyagers Update Brings Custom Corvette Starships

No Man’s Sky is back with its 39th free massive update, which introduces Corvette-class ships that players can fully assemble and customize! The brand new Voyagers update also brings new multiplayer missions, a new, highly detailed player suit, a ship-building community expedition, and more!

No Man’s Sky Voyagers Update 6.0

After nine years, No Man’s Sky is still going strong, but this newest update brings one of the biggest features players have been begging for. In update 6.0, players can build and assemble habitable, multi-crew starships from hundreds of ship modules. Allowing players to customize not just the look and layout of their ship, but every part from both the interior and exterior!

“We call them Corvettes, huge ships with hulls, wings, landing gear, cockpits, engine parts, thrusters, and more — arranged to your own unique sci-fi design,” Hello Games co-founder Sean Murray said in a statement along with the update’s announcement. He also delves into some extra details, saying Corvettes have “real interiors,” including many customizable sections, such as sleeping quarters and medical bays.

Sean Murray aims for Corvettes to have a distinct thematic feel, making them feel special when it comes to customization. He emphasizes that building your own ship is a different experience than constructing your base on a planet. Your ship serves as your home, and you take it with you wherever you go, so it should be special to both you and your crew.

The Voyagers Update also gives players a small look into the future of Hello Games upcoming title, Light No Fire. Murray notes that a fair amount of the technology that went into making the Voyagers update is also being used for Light No Fire, which was briefly mentioned in the deep-dive trailer. For those unfamiliar, Light No Fire is a game about adventure, building, survival, and exploration. Set on a fantasy planet the size of Earth for players to explore. So it makes sense that we are going to see a mix of tech and tricks, or perhaps some gameplay elements shared between games.

If you haven’t played No Man’s Sky and you’re looking to jump in for the first time, now’s your chance to grab it while it’s still on sale until September 8th. For more updates, keep an eye on our latest news!
