Resident Evil: Requiem Reveal Coming at Gamescom 2025

Great news for Resident Evil fans! We will be getting an exclusive look at Resident Evil: Requiem during the opening night of Gamescom next Tuesday, August 19th. It’s been a while since we’ve heard new details about the game, but recently, Geoff Keighley posted on X that more information will be revealed soon.

It’s been a while since we received more information about Requiem, following Capcom’s official reveal trailer released during Summer Game Fest 2025. The game will launch on February 27, 2026, for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.

What We Know about Resident Evil: Requiem

Requiem draws significant inspiration from Resident Evil 7 in its environment, encounters, and more. Players will assume the role of a new character, Grace Ashcroft, an FBI analyst investigating mysterious deaths at the Wrenwood Hotel. This hotel connects to Grace’s past, suggesting that she unknowingly played a role in some of the strange occurrences within its walls.

Veterans of the Resident Evil series will be familiar with the eerie corridors, puzzle-solving, and the terrifying new threats that Capcom has cooked up. Players who participated in a closed demo test reported encountering a constant new threat that lurks in the halls of the Wrenwood Hotel. This new enemy bears a role similar to iconic characters like Nemesis, Jack Baker, and Lady Dimitrescu.

Return to Raccoon City

In an interview with the developers, they revealed that they initially considered fan-favorite Leon Kennedy as the protagonist of Resident Evil: Requiem. However, after further deliberation, they decided to go with Grace Ashcroft instead. The developers felt that creating a horror game featuring Leon would be challenging, as he has already experienced so much throughout the series. Additionally, rumors have begun to circulate suggesting that Requiem may be Leon’s final appearance.
