Resident Evil Requiem: Leon Kennedy’s Final Chapter?

Rumors have begun to spread that a known and reliable source for Resident Evil leaks has recently posted that Resident Evil Requiem might be Leon Kennedy’s “last major role” in the current timeline.

Resident Evil Requiem Leaks

This information comes from Dusk Golem, also known as AestheticGamer, a reliable source for leaks related to the Resident Evil series. They recently shared on X about the game’s story direction, claiming that the theme of “Long Awaited Endings & New Beginnings” is tied to Leon’s last significant role in the timeline. Dusk Golem mentioned that while it is likely Leon will return in movies or events set in the past, we may not see him in a major game role again in the future of the Resident Evil universe.

According to the leaker, “Leon and Grace are the main protagonists of Resident Evil Requiem. I’m repeating myself a bit here, but this will ultimately be the case. Both characters play major roles, but when it’s all said and done, this may very well serve as Leon’s send-off game.”

Leon’s Last Game?

While Leon’s fate remains uncertain, Dusk Golem speculates, “I truly don’t know his fate or the ending of RE9, just the circumstances surrounding it. I can almost picture him saying, ‘I’m getting too old for this, and I’ve more than earned my retirement’ after the events of RE9. It will be interesting to see how Capcom handles this.”

We can expect to learn more soon, as an exclusive new look at Requiem will debut during the opening night of Gamescom on the 19th. Dusk Golem also pointed out that press coverage and hands-on impressions will be shared starting August 20th, following this exclusive reveal.

It’s important to remember that nothing is official until Capcom confirms it. Leaks often stem from incomplete or outdated information, and that might be true in this case. Since its development began in early 2017, following the release of Resident Evil 7, Resident Evil Requiem has gone through several drafts.

But what do you think? Leon has experienced a lot of action and has been in the public eye for many years. Do you think it’s finally time for him to retire, or are you concerned that there may not be another character who could take his place?

We’ll find out when Resident Evil Requiem launches on February 27, 2026. Until then, keep an eye on our latest news for any upcoming information about the game!
