There were plenty of major announcements during the June 2026 State of Play livestream. Among the many eye-catching reveals, including the highly anticipated God of War: Laufey, was a brand-new trailer for Silent Hill: Townfall.
Silent Hill: Townfall
It’s a great time to be a Silent Hill fan. The franchise returned with the Silent Hill 2 remake in 2024, followed by Silent Hill f in 2025. Now, fans can look forward to Silent Hill: Townfall, which launches on September 23, 2026.
Based on what has been revealed so far, players will step into the role of Simon Ordell, who is called back to the island of St. Amelia. There, he discovers a town shrouded in dense fog, seemingly abandoned, yet far from empty.
Unlike previous entries in the series, Silent Hill: Townfall is entirely from a first-person perspective, making it the first game in the franchise to do so. Simon must explore the island, evade threats, and survive using a limited selection of weapons and tools. One of the most important of these is the CRTV, a portable television capable of tuning into unstable signals, a fitting mechanic given the game’s 1996 setting.
The CRTV serves a crucial role throughout the experience. In addition to uncovering story fragments and hidden clues, it acts as Townfall’s spiritual successor to the iconic radio featured in earlier Silent Hill games. The developers have also confirmed that Townfall will feature multiple endings, with the outcome shaped by the player’s choices and actions throughout the story.
Sadly, that’s all we know for now, but keep an eye on our Other Games section as we hear more about what’s going on in the fog.
