This year’s Skulls event brought many great announcements and updates. From the Skitarii joining Darktide to Dawn of War IV finally getting a release date, there’s so much to talk about. However, Space Marine 2 just dropped the brand new Purgation Update.
Space Marine 2 – Purgation Update
Patch 13 comes with a lot of new additions, including a new PvE mission, a major update to Siege Mode, and new sets of weapon and armour cosmetics. But the centerpiece of this new update is the brand-new Operation: Purgation, where Combat Squad Veridian must reclaim a Mechanicus facility in the Kadaku swamps.
But that’s not all, this update also brings a new Battle Simulator practice arena, giving players the chance to practice fighting hordes or bosses with various weapons and different loadouts. Speaking of loadouts, Patch 13 also brings in new loadouts, perk swapping, and expanded customization options, allowing each class to wear multiple wargear at once.
The Purgation Update also comes with some new weapons as well! Space Marines can now wield the new Bolt Carbine One-Handed & 3 new Heroic Weapons for the Plasma Pistol, Chainsword & Power Axe.

Of course, there’s also new seasonal content if you bought the Year 2 season pass. Additionally, the new Iron Hands Chapter Pack also dropped today and looks extremely good on the new Techmarine Champion class.
Lastly, from now till Tuesday, Space Marine 2 is free on Steam! Anyone can play the first couple of missions from the Campaign, three Operations (Inferno, Decapitation & Vortex), and all of the PvP game modes available before Tuesday morning!
