Blizzard have a fix ready for the framerate issues caused by pet auto-cast abilities. Since it requires a client patch the fix isn’t in quite yet and will require a game restart on the players’ end. There’s no ETA for when it’s coming, but Blizzard offered a few workarounds as well, mostly related to just not using the pet-auto-cast and related macros.
Thank you for all the reports about the low framerate issue related to pet auto-cast abilities in Burning Crusade Classic Anniversary. We’ve identified the issue and we’re preparing a fix for it, which will require an update to the WoW client.
New client builds are a bit trickier to deploy, and once deployed, the fix will take effect only after you next restart the game. Until then, the following workarounds may provide some relief:
- The issue will happen less frequently if you do not macro pet abilities or /petattack into frequently-cast spells.
- If the low framerate occurs, you should be able to restore your FPS by toggling auto-cast off and then on again for your pet spells.
- If issues persist, a /reload or relog should get you back into a good state.
We’ll get the new client out as quickly as we can. Thank you again!
