Day 3 has passed and we have another World First! This one had a bit of a twist as another newcomer went and bucked the boss order meta, and opened the way for a whooole lot of kills.
The Top Guilds
Still a big nope. Echo and Method were deep in splits, poking at Dimensius Heroic a bit, and that was about it. Same story for Liquid, who did manage to get to the end of their Normal splits at least, but still have plenty of Heroics to get to. They may take down Dimensius H today as they still have a bit of time in their raid day. A Mythic kill or two is unlikely, but possible as well. We will be seeing Mythic action tomorrow, however, as at least Liquid and Instant Dollars head into the main raid.
There was an interesting interview with Echo’s Meeres, where he talked about the difficulty of finding helpers at certain times, especially strong specs for the raid, how Dimensius splits will be guild-only, and more. Here’s a look:
A Looming Soulbinder
The day passed pretty peacefully, with many new takers for the first Mythic boss. We saw quite a few new kills on Plexus Sentinel, with 22 guilds now on 1/8. 76 guilds have poked the boss at least a little. But one of them changed the whole story of the day.
The big story is all about another newcomer to the World First stage, SOMA. Every guild that dared move past Sentinel kept going to Loom’ithar as the second boss, since that’s what the order was in Heroic. The big bug fought back fiercely and all guilds abandoned hope on him after 3-4 pulls. The best anyone could get is a 59% pull, and that was from yesterday. SOMA had a different idea, and after their World 10th on the first boss, they decided to try out Soulbinder Naazindhri instead of the bug, late in the NA raiding day!
The Kill
That paid off and then some, as they immediately realized the boss was much easier. It only took them 6 pulls to get the kill, with an item level of 695.9, and a World First along the way!
As the other guilds saw this, they instantly decided to switch over from Loom’thar. Within minutes there was no one progressing on the bug and we had quite a few new kills! Country Club were the first to pivot and got Soulbinder down in 4 pulls. Consequence swapped a little later and managed to 1-shot the poor ethereal! A total of 7 guilds have downed the now second boss of the raid, after days of no one getting even close! It’s great to see this level of innovation in the race, even if it is on the early bosses, as you can see how guilds just get stuck in same-think and a meta mentality. So big congratulations to SOMA on their very first World First, and in having the courage to do something different from everyone else!
And here’s the full kill pull:
Since the boss order played such a big role in today’s raiding, here’s the layout of Manaforge: Omega:

And as always, for live 24/7 coverage of the race, head on over to Raider.IO, where it’s a totally different Starym doing the coverage and I’m not stealing my own posts. At all.
