We have yet another story of a temporally challenged protodrake getting lost in the Storm Peaks. This one’s particularly tragic, as under different, more golf-related circumstances, it could be seen as a good thing!
The Makers’ Trap
One fine day in Northrend, chrisdikulos got very lucky, and then very quickly thereafter, very unlucky. After a long time farming it, they finally came upon the legendary 
Time-Lost Proto-Drake! However, once it was taken down, it managed to escape capture after all, by falling right into the Engine of the Makers! This would be a pretty impressive golf shot if not for the fact that the mount was now unlootable. No mobs to bring down and area-loot, and no looterang in sight. Chrisdikulos had to simply stand there and watch as the corpse despawned. The mount that they were looking for for years simply faded away…
There was a support ticket made, with accompanying screenshots etc., of course, but no luck with it yet, with a few responses already. Other players mention they did manage to get it back after a kindly GM saw their ticket, but it’s a bit of a gamble, since it’s not really a bug or unintended interaction. We wish chris luck with the tickets and the mount! Maybe there’s another protodrake out there which isn’t looking to score that hole-in-one.
The lesson is once again: even if you’re not planning on farming it or other similar mounts, always carry a looterang!
