A Rampaging Tank Blasts 500 Million+ Damage and Tries to Lay Siege to Orgrimmar

A tank wreaked havoc in the Barrens, demolishering players with hundreds of millions of damage. You already know who’s reponsible…

That’s right, Rextroy is back at it with another creative PvP exploit. This time he’s weaponizing an old Kor’kron Demolisher in the Northern Barrens. Thanks to the demolisher’s Hurl Boulder iconHurl Boulder ability (shared with battleground siege engines), he’s able to deal percentage-based damage, resulting in hits for over 500 million per boulder!

The result? Absolute chaos – one-shotting players, griefing holiday events, and poking holes in modern WoW’s phasing systems.

How It Works

  • The demolisher is a leftover NPC from Mists of Pandaria found in Northern Barrens.
  • Its Hurl Boulder iconHurl Boulder ability works like in Wintergrasp – dealing a % of the target’s health, capped at ~536 million.
  • Using the Pocket-Sized Computation Device iconPocket-Sized Computation Device trinket from BfA with the Hijack Synaptic Circuits iconHijack Synaptic Circuits punchcard, Rextroy can mind-control it like a pet.

Once under control the demolisher becomes a mobile artillery unit – albeit a fragile one. It will one-shot anyone, and two-shot tanks.

Why It’s Limited

WoW’s modern phasing system prevents kiting or using mind-controlled NPCs across zones. The demolisher despawns if taken into Durotar or Orgrimmar. Even trying to glitch phasing doesn’t allow mind control across zone lines. It cannot leave the Barrens. But within that zone, it’s perfect for sniping players during holiday events, camping Ratchet, or deleting AFKers from extreme range with its slow-moving, high-damage boulders.

Extra Artillery Shenanigans

Rextroy attempts to exploit phasing bugs to fire into Durotar from the edge of the Barrens – and even manages to appear in one zone while targeting in another. But mind control still fails, confirming the demolisher can’t be pushed past its home phase.
