It’s time to dive into our very first Mythic+ DPS logs of Midnight! A lot has changed since the end of The War Within, with a particularly unexpected face at the top, and everything else reshuffled as well.
And don’t forget, there’s more tuning coming this week, with 7 specs affected, including Shadow and Arms.
DPS Logs, by Warcraft Logs Points
The below logs are based on POINTS, and not actual damage or healing. This means that they log the timed completion for the specs, with higher keys getting more points, obviously. The time in which the dungeon is completed is also a factor. It is a much, much smaller factor, however. It grants only a few points for significantly faster completions compared to just any in-time finish. We’re also using the Normalized Aggregate Scores numbers, for clarity. This means that the top spec is marked as 100 and then the rest are ranked in relation to that peak point.
95th percentile DPS
While we see one familiar face in the top 3, the other two are very new to this particular neck of the woods. Augmentation spent a long time near the bottom, especially in TWW Season 3, and seeing it at the very top is unusual to say the least, not to mention ahead by a significant margin! The other new face is just new in general, as Devourer claims 3rd, neck and neck with the DK. Elemental and Subtlety follow the top 3. And, along with Arcane right after that, they are all pretty used to relatively high placement. The next spec, on the other hand, is coming straight from the bottom of the previous season, as Frost Mage is ready to make a name for itself. The Warriors huddle up behind Affliction and it’s Fury that closes out the top 10.
All Percentiles
The top 3 remain the same here, with Augmentation not as far ahead as in the top percentiles. Subtlety is doing better here, as Elemental drops off a few spots. We also see Marksmanship doing a lot better than in the above chart! Shadow also makes an appearance in the top 10, just ahead of Fury, which takes the final spot once again. The one thing that’s very consistent between the two charts is Frost DK sitting at the very bottom, Destruction joining it. And while the top percentiles had Assassination as the third in the bottom three, here we see Beast Mastery joining the very much not fun.
Specific Keys
From the individual key charts, we see that Augmentation is definitely getting its lead from higher keys, as it starts to dominate around the 10s, but then slightly drops off again in the very high keys.

Very High Key Raw DPS Numbers
Note: We’re also taking a look at the raw damage numbers from Mythicstats. They take the top runs for extremely high keys (+10-19) from WarcraftLogs and list the overall DPS for the dungeon, which includes non-combat time as well. They’re ranked by the average DPS numbers, with the very top of the top shown next to it.
We’re taking a look at the raw DPS numbers as well, and they show a very different picture, as Warlocks are sandwiching Unholy at the top. Fury is also doing a lot better, as is Retribution, and Augmentation finds itself at the bottom of the top 10. Nothing is saving Frost DK, however, as it’s at the bottom here as well.
For even more in-depth data for each individual key, head on over to Warcraft Logs. If you’re interested in more info on the specs themselves, you can always check out our class guides or our Midnight tier lists!
