It seems Shadow Priests are finally hearing back from their old ex-dagger!
In this week’s final main War Within campaign quest, the main villain of the World Soul saga has a special message to her once-wielders.
What Whispers?
In case you were unaware, The current void elf-looking Xal was imprisoned in/was a dagger (
Xal’atath, Blade of the Black Empire) for a long time. And during the Legion expansion, that dagger was the artifact weapon for Shadow Priests. When wielding the dagger (or having it transmogged) she would whisper the player various things. These were related to the locations the player visited, who they interacted with or the things they did (killing mobs, getting stunned etc).
That relationship didn’t quite work out in the end. And as we can see, Xal’ath freed herself after the Shadow Priest got rid of her.
The Return of the Whispers
Well, we now have our first brand-new whisper in a long time! As spotted by theraafa, when wielding the blade/its transmog, Shadow Priests receive a whisper during this week’s final main campaign quest. And she does seem somewhat… upset.
So if you’re playing Shadow… maybe try extra hard not to surrender to madness. Or just enjoy the ride!
