We’re back to the serious bugs this time as we have a player that can’t play their character due to having too many Hero talents!
They Doubled It – and Then It Stopped Working
This is the story of a Death Knight that just had too much power. Chadhassler found themselves in a very weird situation, having 20 Hero talent points for each of their trees. Now, obviously you can’t spend that many, but so what, you just have some left over. Well, unfortunately, unless you spend all your Hero talent points, you can’t apply the changes to your build. This means chadhassler can’t play their Death Knight any more!
That’s just the start of the player’s troubles, however. This has been a known issue for 5 months now, with no solution offered on the official support page. As you’d expect, chadhassler tried every potential solution out there to no avail, as you can see from the Reddit thread with players suggesting every possible option. That included deleting the character and restoring it, but still nothing. The only thing that works is the starter build talents, but nothing beyond that can be changed. The next move was to actually engage with customer support, and that didn’t turn out so well.

The main focus of the Reddit post is the very poor treatment and non-existent efficiency of customer support with this issue. You can find all the various unhelpful replies in the thread below, but basically it’s a ping-pong of support ticket to email to ticket, with varying degrees of non-answers. The final word so far is that there’s no solution, but it will be escalated to the devs, and to just post on the bug forums – but again, this has been a known issue for 5 months now.
And so the Death Knight is much more dead than it should be. It remains unplayable as there seems to be no way forward with customer support, and the bug has not been fixed for at least 5 months now.
And so this particular Death Knight has become unusable. Chadhassler is probably leveling a new character right now and will be abandoning that poor over-stuffed DK!
