Crusader Strike Holy Paladin Addition Reverted in Midnight Beta, Mana, Healing and Damage Spells Buffed

Well, that didn’t take long. Yesterday’s Midnight development notes saw Blizzard add back Crusader Strike to Holy Paladins. This change did not go over well with the community, and we already have a complete reversal of that decision today!

Holy Paladins will no longer have Crusader Strike. Instead, Blizzard are readjusting the mana economy of the spec, as well as significantly buffing some healing and damage spells!

We’ll be updating the 12.0.1 Midnight beta tomorrow with the following changes:

CLASSES

  • PALADIN
    • Holy
      • Developers’ notes: We are reverting our planned changes to reintroduce Crusader Strike and instead making a few adjustments to Holy Paladin’s mana economy and underperforming spells. Our intent is that this loosening of mana restrictions and incentivization of additional spell uses can accomplish a similar goal from our previous changes; namely add additional gameplay variety, but without the same level of disruption to a gameplay flow that players are currently enjoying. Thank you for your continued feedback!
      • Flash of Light healing increased by 35%.
      • Holy Shock healing increased by 15%.
      • Holy Shock mana cost reduced by 20%.
      • Shield of the Righteous now grants 140% more mana.
      • Shield of the Righteous damage increased by 100%.
      • Shining Righteousness damage increased by 100%.
