As housing looms ever closer, only a season away now, there are quite a few ideas coming out of the community. Some of them don’t even make sense, but some may just become the reality we all want. The one that really caught our eye is a modification of Blizzard’s announced paintings we can put up, as players want some editable content in there!
Changable Paintings
It would be nice if this feature made the live game, so everyone could put their alts or memorable NPCs that marked our journey across Azeroth on the paintings to never forget about them.
Another angle that actually makes sense is tying paintings to the new import/export housing system. Since Blizzard already confirmed you’ll be able to share layouts and décor schemes, it wouldn’t be a huge leap if certain wall slots were “frames” that could accept custom art.
Another great argument that contributes to changeable paintings is that everyone’s house would feel different, and it wouldn’t look like they are all buying from the same shop…
Maybe we could get the pictures from this guy:
Toys For Taking Pictures
Blizzard could expand the S.E.L.F.I.E. Camera MkII toy by letting players turn their screenshots into in-game paintings, so you can frame your favorite memories or silly moments right on your housing walls.
Alts as NPCs in Your House
Another great idea would be to allow your alts to hang out as NPCs in your house, which would make it feel like your Warband HQ. Once you log into a specific character, they would vanish, avoiding duplicates, and the whole place would look warmer.
Ideas like these definitely won’t be coming with the housing feature launch. But Blizzard already said there will be many additions to it over the years, so there really is no limit to what we could eventually get. What do you think – should/can Blizzard take housing this far with changeable paintings, picture frames, and even your alts hanging around the living room, or would that be too much for WoW?
