Dastardly Duos Arrives Next Week: Followers, 10 Bosses at the Same Time, Invisibility When Jumping, and More!

Blizzard has another entry in the Building Azeroth series, as we get a better look at the Dastardly Duos event!

The Basics

The event starts with next week’s reset on June 3rd/4th and will last 6 weeks. Players face off against two dungeon bosses from all over WoW’s history and compete for a high score and a loot chest at the end! You can find the event in Dornogal, at the gates. Each week there will be a new quest to complete with special rewards, including a new mount, pet, and more!

More Than Two Bosses, Powerups, Powerdowns

Despite the event name, players will be fighting more bosses at once! Only two bosses arrive per wave, but they can stack up pretty quickly! At first there will be only four, but by the end, you can fight up to 10 bosses. There’s also a horn that lets you summon extra bosses to the fight, for even more score. You can actually summon all the available bosses, and then just get waves and waves of adds after that!

The bosses themselves may not be that complex, but once you get three or four in there, it starts to add up! Players also get buffed up before the arena. There’s powerful food and potion buffs to grab before the fight, including invisibility whenever you jump! But there’s also food and potions that give you debuffs, making it harder for you, like the shrimp that makes you smaller, makes you take more damage and do less, or a hotdog that gives you indigestion and makes you be gassy, knocking up players behind you.

Solo Play With Follower Dungeon NPCs, or True Solo

Whenever you enter the arena, the game will fill up your party with the Follower Dungeon helpers, right up to that 5-player mark. You can also dismiss the bots and get a lot more points than you would with their help.

The Podium

You can also show off your high scores on the event podium! You can see the number above your character, and if multiple players jump up, they will be re-arranged based on score. You can even get the podium itself as a toy to use after the event!
