Everyone loved some fun and games, but waiting for things to open is always such a drag. Luckily, you can actually get into WoW’s fairgrounds before they open!
A Head Start
The Darkmoon Faire comes around once a month and stays a week, but what if you could get in there early? Well, it turns out you can! Tankis4life brought up this long-standing fact again this past week, as they screenshotted themselves sitting in the fair ahead of time. Now, unfortunately, you can’t really just go in there with whatever character you want. There’s actually two pretty big restrictions and one caveat that apply to this early access, making it a fairly pointless (but still fun) endeavor.
First off, as Exystredofar explains, you’ll have to save a character for this trip. You have to log out at the faire while it’s open. Luckily, the event is live now, so you can try this trick with an alt for next month if you’re inclined to. The next part is a little unclear, but it seems you can only log back in early a day before the faire arrives. Players have tried going in earlier still, but they get teleported out. The event starts just before midnight on the first Sunday of the month, so you’ll want to try this out on a Saturday.
A Vacant Lot
The final little asterisk in this tale of skipping the line is the most relevant. If you do manage to get in ahead of time, there really won’t be much to see or do. As you can see above, pretty much all of the relevant event NPCs are gone! That’s right, you can’t really game the system and get stuff done ahead of time. No games, no daily quest, no World Bosses, just the scenery. There are some exceptions, like the PvP quest NPC that has you gathering ears, but that’s about it.
So why would you do this? Well, why not! Finding strange interactions in the world is an activity in and of itself. Having the faire all to yourself sure sounds like a pretty unique experience. So, if you’re interested, get that alt ready for next month!
