It’s time for a VERY early sneak peek at some of the class tuning results! Since the Season 3 raid isn’t out yet, we’re going back to Liberation of Undermine, and as you can imagine, there aren’t that many players diving back in there. With the new seasonal structure, there’s nothing much to gain in LoU, so the player numbers are low. As low as 13 Survival Hunters! Then again, the top-end of the specs is around 300, so those 13 are plenty in comparison. Things are so sparse we don’t even have ANY Heroic logs! We’re taking a quick look anyway, just for fun, and to compare to last season’s rankings. So let’s get to it.
Note: We are using normalized scores instead of raw DPS for the Warcraft Logs rankings. Normalized scores take into account the outlier boss fights where certain specs could stack massive DPS (due to the nature of the fight, whether it’s AoE spam or something else), which would then affect their overall score for the whole raid.
Mythic
Overall Damage 95th Percentile
The tuning didn’t manage to dethrone Devastation, as LoU just suits it too well. We’ll see how it fares in the Manaforge, however. One spec that will very likely be very good in the new raid as well rose a whole bunch, as Arcane moves into 2nd. Affliction takes the top Warlock spot as Destruction falls off, and even Demonology surpasses it, doing very well. Elemental is another winner here, with Shadow also gaining a solid amount. Assassination was the surprise winner of the most recent tuning pass, moving to the very top of the Mythic+ tier list, and it’s also doing a lot better here, sitting in 7th after being in the bottom half in Season 2. Marksmanship has fallen almost to the bottom of the top 10, after fighting it out for first place in S2. The bottom 3 changed a whole lot. While Balance retains its slot from before, both Retribution and Enhancement dropped like stones to the bottom. Hopefully for them, it’s just the raid and the low parse numbers!
Overall Damage All Percentiles
The Warlocks take over the generalist bracket, as Affliction moves a few spots up and Demonology is reborn, coming a colossal 20 spots up into 2nd! Elemental also moves to the top from the bottom half, while the 13 Survival Hunters are also doing quite well. Assassination is making a name for itself here too, just above Devastation.
Boss Only Damage All Percentiles
Here we see where Demonology gets its power from, as it’s topping the direct damage chart. Elemental is also powered by single-target, with Affliction in tow. The rest of the top 10 looks very similar to the overall damage, which makes sense since the bosses are melting very quickly.
And that’s it for this quick look at the last week Liberation of Undermine will be current content (well, until Classic anyway). We’ll check back in one more time at the end of the reset, and it’ll be interesting to see how many more players will actually venture into this now old raid. And then next week we’ll see just how much the different bosses change things around!
