Once again, some of the best Horrific Visions tips come from Reddit.
If you are working on Horrific Visions for enchants or achievements, this post from Reddit user PinkyMPF is filled with many helpful details, including mask recommendations, a boss-specific cheese strategy, and how to avoid frustrating sanity drains in Orgrimmar.
We have embedded the full Reddit post here and broken down the highlights below, organized by zone:
General Vision Tips
Gift of the Titans procs off any kill, has a 60s internal cooldown, and typically activates after 1–3 kills once ready. Use it on hard bosses or sanity-darining mechanics. There is also a WeakAura that helps to track it more easily.
Remember that Sanity is not your real enemy. If your talents are unlocked and you are not eating constant mechanics, your health bar is the main threat, not the timer.
Lastly, keep in mind that the final boss gains more abilities based on how many zones you clear. For example, Thrall will only cast Cries of the Void if The Drag has been cleared.
Recommended Mask Order (Easiest → Hardest)
Faceless Mask of Dark Imagination ->
Faceless Mask of the Pained ->
Faceless Mask of the Nemesis ->
Faceless Mask of the Burned Bridge ->
Faceless Mask of the Long Night ->
Faceless Mask of Vengeance ->
Faceless Mask of Multitudes/
Faceless Mask of the Daredevil
- For 5-mask runs, go with the first five above.
- Burned Bridge is trickier than it looks – it is easy to over-move and create your own chaos.
- Multitudes and Daredevil together can be brutal unless you are tanky or extremely practiced.
Orgrimmar Zone Tips and Boss Cheese
Valley of Strength (Thrall)
- Only gains
Cries of the Void if The Drag was cleared earlier.
- If triggered, you can LoS (Line-of-Sight) it by hiding behind the throne platform spikes. The shield is not worth breaking unless your cooldowns are up.
- Sanity hit from the shield is always 90, even with the
Faceless Mask of the Daredevil, and can often be healed back through
Elite Extermination.
The Drag
- Annihilator Lak’hal: Stand in the center of his cast circle and do not move – nothing hits you.
- Inquisitor Gnshal:
- Can also be dodged by standing in the center, but trickier with the
Faceless Mask of the Burned Bridge or movement effects.
- Safest cheese: hide behind the nearby building to avoid
Cries of the Void.
- New trick: stand on the brazier to avoid
Void Torrent completely.
- Can also be dodged by standing in the center, but trickier with the
Valley of Honor
- Swarmleaders should always die first. They apply poison fast and give nearby mobs a haste buff.
Faceless Mask of Multitudes makes this area rough – more bugs, more poisons, and more chances to get stunned.
- Rexxar:
- Stand on the left edge of the right doorway to completely avoid
Stampeding Corruption.
- Void Quills can be LoS’d using alcoves, but the
Faceless Mask of the Burned Bridge may make that dangerous.
- Stand on the left edge of the right doorway to completely avoid
Valley of Wisdom
- Kill all mobs except the pack on the right side down the hill, which can be skipped and is especially dangerous due to Dominators.
- Voidcrazed Hulk:
- Obelisk cheese: Stand with back to the left obelisk to dodge throws.
- Basket cheese: Stand on a basket inside the hut to avoid both throw and leap.
- Full cheese: Climb onto the hut sign and wedge under the roof to avoid everything, including fear movement.
- Coagulated Horror:
- Pull into the pond. Standing in deep water avoids his
Visceral Fluid frontal cone.
- Pull into the pond. Standing in deep water avoids his
- Vez’okk the Lightless:
- Standing centered in his circle helps dodge
Defiled Ground, but swirl mechanics will still require movement.
- Standing centered in his circle helps dodge
Valley of Spirits
- Decimator Shiq’voth:
- Stand with your back to the wall to block
Surging Fist.
- Move slightly after each Decimator cast to avoid overlap from your
Faceless Mask of the Burned Bridge.
- Stand with your back to the wall to block
- Oblivion Elemental:
- Stand on a raised object to make the silence orb spawn right on you (no chasing).
- Full cheese: stand on the nearby pillar outside. It blocks the orb wave entirely and lets you burn the boss in peace.
Again, big thanks to PinkyMPF for sharing all of this in one place. It is easily one of the most useful Horrific Visions posts out there right now, especially if you are pushing 5- or 8-mask runs or looking to farm your enchants more efficiently.
