When the Collector’s Bounty event hit, most players did a few extra runs..
One player on Argent Dawn took it way further, running 35 characters across 27 straight hours to test just how much the mount drop buff helps.
This is what 9/10 rare mount drops really look like in one madman’s endurance sprint through WoW’s legacy raids!
The Setup: 35 Chars, 27 Hours, 1 Goal
The player set out to farm every legacy dungeon and raid mount affected by the event’s increased drop rate, except for Mythic Fyrakk, Ansurek, and Mythic Gallywix which are not affected by the buff.
Out of 10 personal targets, they managed to loot 9 moutns, and added one off-raid bonus mount, in a non-stop 27-hour marathon streamed live.
“I know that might sound instane, who would do that to themselves… but I had too much free time, so I wanted to make it a challenge.”
The Result: Mount Drops and Attempt Counts
Each mount below dropped during the event with screenshots and attempt numbers logged only during this window:
- Sanctum Gloomcharger’s Reins – 6 attempts

- Fractal Cypher of the Zereth Overseer – 7 attempts

- Shackled Ur’zul – 10 attempts

- Reins of the Drake of the South Wind – 13 attempts

- Experiment 12-B – 13 attempts

- Life-Binder’s Handmaiden – 27 attempts

- Felsteel Annihilator – 5 attempts

- Fiendish Hellfire Core – 12 attempts

- Ironhoof Destroyer – 24 attempts

- Bonus: Inarius’ Charger – ~15 goblin kills

The player secured 9 out of 10 mounts. You will find a full loot journey video below.
The One That Got Away…
The only mount that didn’t drop was Living Infernal Core from Gul’dan. Despite 81 tries across all difficulties, it didn’t drop. Neither did the
Golden Hearthstone Card: Lord Jaraxxus toy, which might hint that some loot wasn’t properly flagged for the buff.
“At 5% drop chance, I should have seen it at least once. Something felt off.”
Was It Worth It?
If you’re wondering what kind of payoff to expect from the Collector’s Bounty event, this run proves you can drastically improve your odds with running Legacy raids and dungeons with multiple alts!
