Xal’atath Joins the Fight… and Shatters Trust! (Chapter 1)
It starts with a Void portal.
Locus-Walker opens it with cryptic calm, announcing that it’s finally secure for his ally to arrive. But when Xal’atath walks through smiling, shadow-wrathed Alleria doesn’t hide her disgust.
The player stands by as Alleria accuses them all of insanity. Why work with the thing that broke her home? But Locus-Walker insists: Xal’atath’s power is the only hope against Dimensius. It’s a gamble, and not everyone is ready to roll the dice!
Here’s the full conversation transcript based on the datamined broadcast text entries.
Alleria Windrunner: I cannot believe you would partner with her. She’s trying to kill me!
Xal’atath: We’ve all tried to kill each other. Focus on the Void Lord who willl devour us all if he emerges.
Locus-Walker: You have every reason to hate her. For now we need to work together.
Xal’atath: Dimensius was smashed into as many shards as K’aresh, but you’ve allowed the Shadowguard to piece him back together.
Alleria Windrunner: I should just end her! Why are you protecting her Locus-Walker?
Xal’atath: That means if you kill me, you destroy Azeroth. That would be my next stop if I were a Void Lord.
Locus-Walker: It pains me to admit, but if we are to get you and the champion anywhere near Dimensius then we need her expertise. I am not asking you to trust her. I’m asking you to trust me. Set aside your hunt, Windrunner. You will see why this is necessary.
“You Let K’aresh Burn” (Chapter 2)
Chapter 2 dives deeper. Alleria confronts Locus-Walker and Ve’nari, furious that they’d ally with Xal’atath. The truth spills out: it wasn’t Xal’atath who shattered K’aresh, but the Ravel, twisting Reshii ribbons into weapons. They chose to make a deal.
When Locus-Walker admits it was “the only way” to stop Dimensius, the last of Alleria’s trust SNAPS. She throws down her ribbon and walks away…

Rituals, Lies, and the Song of a Living World (Chapter 4)
Later, after defending Hope’s Oasis, the Wastelanders attempt a ritual to contact K’aresh’s soul. It fails, until Xal’atath forcefully boosts the energy using nearby life essence. The result? The voice of K’aresh answers. It is alive.
Soul-Scribe, shaken but inspired, pledges herself and her people to Xal’atath the Harbinger to restore their world.
A Return, a Betrayal, and a Sacrifice (Chapter 4 + Epilogue)
Nexus-King Salhadaar, once thought lost, crashes back into the story riding a drake. He demands loyalty. Soul-Scribe refuses… at first. But when faced with extinction or alliance, she and the Wastelanders turn on the player to follow him again.
And in the epilogue, Soul-Scribe sees the truth. After lashing out at Ve’nari, she offers her Reshii soul to merge with the essence of K’aresh. Her sacrifice reawakens the planet, plants bloom, eco-domes crack open, and life stirs once more.
Shadowguard Attack Placeholder Client Scenes
There’s also a placeholder scene where the Brokers/Consortium people are freaking out, as a portal opens with Shadowguards attacking and energy blasts chaotically start raining down upon the city.
I am not exactly sure when the attack happens exactly in the campaign, as I have not played through it on the 11.2 PTR just yet.
With Xal’atath joining our side in Patch 11.2, we’re in for exciting times ahead!
