Something fishy has been going on with loot for certain players, and it’s been going on a while. Initially thought to be just very, very bad RNG luck, it now seems there is a bug that is causing the repeat loot!
After more than a month of discussion and players getting the same gear slot rewards from various activity rewards, Blizzard’s customer support has now confirmed that a bug is causing this and it’s being worked on!
Customer Support won’t be able to change the loot already offered I’m afraid, but I can confirm that a hotfix is being worked on at the moment.
The above post is from a few days ago, and a hotfix hasn’t been spotted yet. This has been going on since the pre-patch. This means it’s either a very tricky issue or it’s just recently been noted as a bug. There’s also an outside chance the customer support representative may have misspoken or misunderstood the issue, which has happened in the past. However, considering the amount of players reporting these issues and the truly insane statistical anomalies present in their drop luck, this does seem like a bug. For some, even getting a confirmation that they’re not just the unluckiest player in the world may be enough!
