Lapsed Subscriptions, Time to House, Picking a Plot and More: Housing 101 – An Official Through WoW’s Biggest New Feature

With Housing Early Access on its way in just a few days, Blizzard have prepared a starter guide for players! The video overview sees Jay Hwang, Principal Artist and Design Lead for Housing decoration, go through the basics of Housing, so you’ll know exactly what to do once the feature hits with this weekly reset (Tuesday for NA, Wednesday for EU realms).

From the auto-pop-up quest that gets you into the Housing tutorial experience to the new Housing icon in the game micro-menu, picking your neighborhood and plot, finding your friends, relocating your house (like after leaving a guild), decor budgets, advanced mode, leveling up your house, it’s all in there! You will be able to get to the feature very quickly, even with a brand new character. After only a few quests in the Exile’s Reach starter area you’ll be prompted to head to Housing. You can hop around and look at the different plots, and if it’s available, it will be reserved for you for 5 minutes after you port to it.

Blizzard also cover what happens to your home(s) when you unsubscribe. After a “long enough” time passes, your house(s) will go into storage. Your plot will be made available to other players. Once you resubscribe, you can place it in a new plot, same as when changing a plot. You can also visit and decorate both your houses (one for each faction) with any character.

There’s many more details on the Housing system in the video below, so definitely take a look!
