It’s panic time as the huge Legacy mount and transmog drop buffs are going away very soon! Collector’s Bounty is over with this week’s reset (or is it?), and players are scrambling to get that last thing they’re missing. So here’s a collection of the many tips and skips we’ve covered during the event (and some we didn’t) to get you across that finish line! Regardless of whether Blizzard do the right thing and extend the event until 11.2 or not, you’ll want these tips!

The Lockout Save
Here’s the big one, as you can save your lockout for some raids and head straight to your boss of choice with alts, as one character holds down the fort. It works at least for Sanctum of Domination (but just for the Nine boss, not Sylvanas on Mythic), Nighthold, Black Temple, Battle for Dazar’alor, Ulduar, and Tazavesh Mythic.
Here’s how to do it:
- Clear the raid to the boss you need on your “anchor” character.
- You may want to open two WoW clients for each character, but it’s optional.
- Hearthstone out so you can log out faster.
- Create a Legacy group with the anchor.
- Log in to the next character you want to kill the boss for the mount.
- Find the custom group and ask to join.
- Log back in to the anchor and accept the join request.
- Log back to the new character and enter the raid quickly.
- Wait for the party leader to switch to the new character after 90 seconds (you can usually also move to the boss you need to kill while waiting). You have to be in the raid with the new character before the 90 seconds expires.
- Kick the anchor.
- That’s it – head to the raid and you should be in the same lockout as the anchor.
Skips
Here are all the skips to and inside raids!
Icecrown and Invincible
Let’s start with the big one, everyone’s goal with this event even if they don’t care that much about mounts: Invincible. First we have a regular skip that saves you a solid chunk of time, bypassing some bosses and some trash:
There are just two components you’ll need in addition to Maef1995‘s video below for this little trick. Any of the parasol glider toys (Stylish Black Parasol Shadowlands treasure, for example) and some form of slowfall effect (
Whispers of Rai’Vosh from WoD rare Rai’vosh, for example). The rest is the same as the Demon Hunter and Evoker skip, as you simply float down and avoid Valithra Dreamwalker and the trash in front of Sindragosa.
Lockout Save
ICC has a special version of the lockout save. Jag- explained it perfectly, giving Mordy83 the credit for the method, so here’s how to do it. They use their own terminology for the characters and the log in/log out process.
“SAVER: A character saved to the instance for weekly runs.
RUNNER: Alts that run weekly and skip bosses.
- Choose a SAVER you won’t run weekly (e.g., a weaker or less-used character).
- Ensure they can create custom groups (level 50+ required).
- This can’t be done Cross Faction, unsure about Cross Server.
- On the SAVER, set the Raid to 25 NORMAL and clear all but two bosses, including the Lich King.
- Example: I use a Warrior who didn’t finish the healing boss.
- If you finish this boss, make sure another remains alive alongside the Lich King.
- With these two bosses left, use this saved instance for your RUNNERS.
- On a RUNNER, enter the Raid on 25 HEROIC, kill Lord Marrowgar, take the teleporter behind him back to the entrance, and exit the raid.
- /Camp the RUNNER and log to the SAVER.
- Create a custom group on the SAVER, then /Camp again.
- Ideally, log the SAVER in a town for instant logout, and keep them in Raid 25 NORMAL for future groups.
- Apply to the custom group on the RUNNER, /Camp, switch to the SAVER, invite the RUNNER, /Camp, then switch back to the RUNNER, accept the invite, and re-enter the Raid.
- Accept the “10/12 Bosses Defeated” popup, kill (or heal) the remaining boss, and leave the group.
- If the healing boss is alive, teleport to Sindragosa’s Lair, mount up, head to the spider room, and use cooldowns to reach the elevator quickly.
- You can leave the group 45 seconds before killing/healing the boss in order to save time.
- In the case of the healing boss, you can leave the group 5 seconds before the elevator takes you up.
- This syncs with getting kicked to the graveyard after healing the boss, saving you time running out.
- Once kicked, mount up, re-enter the Raid (now on Heroic), and proceed to the Lich King.
- Repeat from step 4 weekly for each RUNNER.
- Ensure the SAVER extends the saved instance each week and is in Raid 25 NORMAL mode when starting these runs.” – Jag-
Dragon Soul Skip
As ShayneDeVelo goes over in their video, the first two boss skips are very daring. You jump off the flying mounts by switching specs at the right time to get a hole in one, and then, as you’re falling at a regular speed, saving quite some time, you kill the boss as you’re falling before you die. You’re back at the temple portal after reviving, heading straight to the next boss. This works for the first two bosses, with the third also involving dying, but this time to skip the RP parts. Finally, on Ultraxxion, the fifth boss, you can actually jump to him directly instead of waiting. All you need is any slow fall toy like Whelps on Strings,
Glimmerflies on Strings,
Silver Linin’ Scepter, or any other you might have. Check out the video below on Youtube for the exact timings.
There was even more advice to be had in the thread, specifically for the most annoying boss ever, Spine. Apparently the required Corrupted Bloods per Hideous Amalgamation – but only on Heroic difficulty! You only need one to get it done now.
All you’ll need is a Goblin Glider Kit! You can easily get them on the Auction House for around 5 gold, which is very cheap considering how much time you’ll be saving. The video below shows it all, but basically you head out of Ve’nari’s refuge, up the hill on the left and then just glide. Oh, and die, obviously! The skip parks you right outside the raid entrance, so it couldn’t be more handy, as Drayko show us:
Ulduar/Mimiron
A short clip of the skip was posted by Tape84. With perfect positioning and timing, you can reach Vezax quickly, as shown in the video here:
This skip also works for Demon Hunters.
Black Temple
The skip is actually pretty simple. You still have to beat the first two bosses. But after you take down Supermus on his little hill, you can skip right to the 2nd-to-last boss. You just use your double jump/jump and glide after entering the temple itself to get up on the chains. Demon Hunters have an easier time of it with double jump, but Evokers can also get it done with a bit more effort. As usual the awesome WoW community has you covered with some visuals, courtesy of conaan, with added commentary. They showcase the skip with an Evoker, but you’ll want to do it with a Demon Hunter so you can actually equip the glaives (and there’s a DH video below as well).

Here’s the video for Demon Hunters as well:
Firelands
The method, brought to you by Reddit user harruka, consists of the following steps:
- Reach Alysrazor.
- Start the RP and fight.
- Wait until she drops feathers on the ground.
- Click 3 feathers to gain flight.
- Kill Alysrazor and use the flight buff to soar over the bridge to Majordomo’s area.
- ???
- Profit!
This way, you won’t have to defeat Beth’tilac, Shannox, and Baleroc.
Don’t Forget LFR
You can solo-queue a lot of older LFR raids. They have their own set of transmog, and even drop some of the mounts! Here’s the BfA NPC location.
Both Alliance and Horde have their own NPCs you can queue solo LFR at. We have two “Keepers of Histories”. Eppu is found on the second floor to the right of where you port in at the Great Seal for the Horde, while Kiku sits in the Boralus tavern. You can freely chain-queue at them and cover all the BfA raids easily. The transmog will be of the Raid Finder variety, but there’s still some great stuff in there, including some mounts.
