Liberation of Undermine Mythic and Heroic Raid Spec Popularity

We check up on Mythic+ every week to see just how popular Paladins have gotten, so now it’s time to peek at the raid as well! We’re checking out WarcraftLogs Liberation of Undermine data for the past two weeks.

DPS Specs: Ret Forever

Things aren’t that much different from the dungeons, as Retribution is still the most popular spec by far. Things are pretty similar to M+ in terms of dominance as well, as the DPS Paladins are about as far ahead in the raid as they are in the dungeons. After the big pink No.1 we do see mostly different specs at the top, with Balance, Beast Mastery, and Havoc being much more prevalent in the raid. Marksmanship is popular all around, while Unholy and Arcane are doing a lot better in the dungeons. Aside from Ret’s giant lead, the rest of the top 10 specs are actually very close together, with almost as much separating No.2 from No.10 as it does from No.1.

In fact, you’d have to go down all the way to No.17 to start seeing a real drop-off, as all the specs up to then are being played quite a lot! Augmentation remains at the bottom, with only 2,300 players, followed closely by Survival, which is strange as it’s actually doing quite well, sitting in 4th in the raid log charts.

And here’s a look at the much more populous Heroic numbers. We see everything is pretty much the same, just basically tripled from the Mythic numbers, with Beast Mastery eclipsing Balance. But the Hunters get their revenge as Marksmanship takes down Havoc.

Tank Specs

Things are very different from Mythic+ here, as the overwhelmingly dominating Vengeance finds itself down in 3rd here. Meanwhile, Blood is on top, but very close to Prot Paladin, with less than a thousand player difference. Brewmaster and Guardian see a big dropoff at the bottom, as they’re also very close together.

It’s a very different situation over in Heroic, as it seems all the Mythic+ tanks are heading over there! The rest is exactly the same, as it’s only Vengeance that moves two spots up and into the lead, but not by too much.

Healer Specs

Things are very different from M+ here as well, as Resto Shaman is the king of the hill, and by a solid margin. Holy is also ahead quite a bit from Mistweaver, which is very close to Resto Druid, which in turn is solidly ahead of the dungeon top-dog, Discipline. Only Preservation sticks out a lot, as it seems very few people are playing it

Things are looking very similar in Heroic, but Druids are doing quite a bit better, sitting in third by a large margin. Discipline is also more prevalent, as it moves past Mistweaver, but just barely as the two specs are within two thousand players of each other.

Are you playing the more popular classes? Or are you one of the Augmentation/Preservation Evokers and Brewmasters?
