World of Warcraft players will soon have a new way to experience the game’s iconic stories! Patch 11.1.7 introduces Lorewalking, a feature that lets players replay key lore quests from the game’s rich history, and earn unique rewards in the process!

What is Lorewalking

Lorewalking is a repeatable activity led by Lorewalker Cho, who narrates each tale as you relive major events from Warcraft’s past. You’ll step directly into the heart of key storylines and experience the defining moments that shaped WoW.

Each story unfolds over multiple chapters and offers unique rewards! You can pause your progress anytime, port out, and return when ready!

Choose Your Story and Rewards!

At 11.1.7 launch, Lorewalking offers 3 distinct stories. Each comes with a reward tied to the story’s theme!

Xal’atath

Xal’atath, the Harbinger, once known as the Blade of the Black Empire. Her history is a well-kept secret. But her words and deeds have affected so many that she is impossible to ignore. Her story must be told.

Completing this story rewards the Echo of the Xal'atath, Blade of the Black Empire iconEcho of the Xal’atath, Blade of the Black Empire toy. When used, Xal’atath’s voice echoes with excitement every time you kill an enemy. It lasts for 60 seconds and has no cooldown.

Ethereals

Mysterious and elusive, the ethereals that have traveled to our world speak little of their history. Yet there is much to be learned from the few things they do choose to share…

This story grants a transformation toy (K'aresh Memory Crystal iconK’aresh Memory Crystal) that lets you appear as a K’areshi.

The Lich King

Arthas Menethil. It is said that when he was born, the very forests of Lordaeron whispered his name. But did the forests of his youth know what he would eventually grow to become?

Finishing this story rewards the Royal Visage iconRoyal Visage, a toy that transforms you into Arthas himself for 5 minutes on a 2 hour coolown!

Both Xa’latath and the Ethereal stories are on-point and a great way for players to get familiar with current content, as Xal’atath is the main antagonist in The War Within expansion and we will see the Ethereals playing a big role there as well!
