Major Shakeup at the Top in Dungeons! Tank and Healer Raid and Mythic+ Logs

Starym's Avatar by Starym

We have some surprising shakeups in the tank and healer department over the past week! In the dungeons we see an entirely new lineup for the tanks, as the Protections take over! The raid is much more stable but still has changes at the very top, so let’s get to it.

Mythic+ Dungeons

Warcraft Logs Points

The below logs are based on POINTS, and not actual damage or healing. This means that they log the timed completion for the specs, with higher keys getting more points, obviously. The time in which the dungeon is completed is also a factor. It is a much, much smaller factor, granting only a few points for significantly faster completions compared to just any in-time finish. We’re also using the Normalized Aggregate Scores numbers, for clarity. This means that the top spec is marked as 100 and then the rest are ranked in relation to that peak point

Tanks, All Percentiles

We have a giant change right off the bat in the dungeons from last week’s numbers! Prot Paladins have entirely taken over, coming up from all the way down in 4th place to the very top! It seems the additional gear players got, including tier sets, really helped the spec out and then some. The changes came in right around this Sunday. We also see the other Protection move up, but just the one spot, pushing Vengeance down. Brewasters had a very brief flirtation with the top spot as they swap spaces with the Paladin! To be fair, however, the top 4 are incredibly close, in all percentiles other than the very top.

Healers, All Percentiles

We see no such dramatic movement on the healer side of things, as the top two remain the same. In 3rd we see Discipline and Preservation switch spaces, with the Priest coming out on top. The rest remains the same, with Holy Priest still at the bottom by a large margin.

Manaforge: Omega Raid, Mythic

Note: We are using normalized scores instead of raw DPS for the Warcraft Logs rankings. Normalized scores take into account the outlier boss fights where certain specs could stack massive DPS (due to the nature of the fight, whether it’s AoE spam or something else), which would then affect their overall score for the whole raid.

Tank DPS, All Percentiles

We see no such luck for Paladins as in the dungeons here, as the spec is still dead last. The top 3 remains the same, while Blood DK moves up, making Guardian drop to the penultimate spot. Do note that this is only related to tank damage, however.

Healer HPS, All Percentiles

The healers do see a shakeup at the top, as Preservation takes over from Mistweaver. The difference between the two specs is barely noticeable, with Mistweavers basically only doing worse in the lowest percentiles.
