Alleria, Sylvanas, Lady Liadrin, Lor’themar, Arator, Turalyon. One of them may not survive in Midnight and Blizzard’s already dropping hints…
The Midnight cinematic made it clear the stakes are higher than ever. Lor’themar faces off with Xal’atath. Liadrin briefly leaves the battlefield to summon the Army of the Light at the Sunwell to fend off the forces of the Void…
One of the gamescom 2025 panels revealed that Turalyon, Alleria, and Arator will play important roles in Midnight.

Arator received a shiny new model and given how he’s caught between Light and Void, he’s clearly going to be in the spotlight this expansion.
Turalyon, on the other hand, I could absolutely see him pull off a Varian-style heroic death…
March on Quel’Danas Raid Delay is a Huge Red Flag
Blizzard confirmed the March on Quel’Danas two-boss raid won’t be available straight at launch. Instead, it’s coming two to three weeks later. Why? Because, according to Blizzard, it’s “full of lore spoilers.”
That delay alone suggests something major goes down. On social media, Blizzard shared one asset tied to the raid with the following description: “Following the events of the Voidspire, the skies over the Sunwell may never be the same.”

It’s more than likely Xal’atath will use the Dark Heart to corrupt the Sunwell here and we will fail to stop her even after clearing the raid. The ultimate question is at what cost? Will an important lore character die there?
Alleria: Ranger-General Foreshadowing?
The Midnight pre-purchase rewards include a player housing portrait titled Ranger-General Alleria, which may hint at Alleria getting the title at some point during the expansion.
The Ranger-General role has passed through the Windrunner line before. The current Ranger-General is Halduron Brightwing.
There’s definitely some room for some major character growth for Alleria in Midnight, but personally, I don’t necessarily think she’s going to die.

Sylvanas: One Last Death?
Blizzard also confirmed we’ll see Sylvanas again during Midnight. She’s still doing her time in the Maw, but the Midnight expansion would definitely put a fitting final chapter to her redemption arc.
Could Midnight be where Sylvanas dies for real?

Could Lor’themar Fall?
Lor’themar may have surrendered in the cinemaitc, but it wasn’t out of fear. That moment where he spit on the ground said it all: he’s willing to fight for Silvermoon with his DYINGF breath. And that’s exactly what might happen. Lor’themar’s fall wouldn’t be a weakness, it would be a LAST STAND. If the Void threatens the Sunwell, he’s the kind of character who would throw himself into the fire to stop it, right??

Who do you think will kick the bucket in Midnight?
