New Dracthyr Transformation Toggle, Evoker, Rogue and Warrior Tuning: Midnight Patch 12.0.5 PTR Development Notes

Starym's Avatar by Starym

The PTR development notes for the week are in and we have the previously mentioned new toggle for Dracthyr forms available for testing! Battle Visage will allow you to turn into your draconic form only when casting certain thematically appropriate spells, remaining in Visage form the rest of the time. The build also brings more changes for Evokers, with a huge buff to Unravel iconUnravel, tripling its damage, and many Preservation adjustments. There’s also tuning for Rogues and Warriors, as well as a few changes for DKs and Druids.

Hello testers! Here are the updates to 12.0.5 this week:

INCOMING VOID ASSAULTS

RITUAL SITES

  • Challengetaur now offers higher item level gear for testing Tier 4 Ritual Sites.

CLASSES

  • DRACTHYR
    • Battle Visage is a toggled ability, like Chosen Identity. While active, you automatically assume your Visage whenever you are not casting draconic spells such as Fire Breath and Soar.
      • Full list of abilities that temporarily shift you to Dracthyr: Deep Breath, Dream Flight, Breath of Eons, Fire Breath, Eternity Surge, Dream Breath, Upheaval, Hover, Spatial Paradox, Rescue, Zephyr, Verdant Embrace (without Dream Simulacrum talented), and Soar.
      • Many abilities that used to force a shift to Dracthyr have adjusted visual treatments for Visage form.
      • While active, Battle Visage also applies a camera height override to Dracthyr form to prevent the camera from adjusting rapidly when shifting between forms. These camera adjustments are still work-in-progress; there are occasionally minor camera differences between the two forms.
  • DEATH KNIGHT
    • Unholy
      • Scourge Strike now applies Virulent Plague in addition to spreading it.
  • DEMON HUNTER
    • Devourer
      • Reverse Magic is now available as a PvP Talent.
        • Developers’ notes: This change was hotfixed into 12.0.1 so we’re removing it from the 12.0.5 notes.
  • DRUID
    • Restoration
      • Apex Talents: Everbloom rank 2/3 has been redesigned – When Lifebloom’s final bloom occurs, it heals all allies within 40 yards for 30%/60% of its healing amount, reduced beyond 5.
  • EVOKER
    • Unravel damage increased by 300%.
    • Preservation
      • Temporal Anomaly has been redesigned – Now instantly applies an absorb to your target and up to 4 allies within 40 yards, rather than being an area trigger that travels forward.
        • The change to Temporal Anomaly has been reverted.
      • New Talent: Temporal Barrier – Summon a vortex of temporal energy, absorbing 900% spell power and applying Echo at 30% effectiveness on your target and up to 4 allies within 40 yards. Replaces Temporal Anomaly.
      • Resonating Sphere’s effect has been added to Temporal Anomaly, and the talent has been removed.
  • ROGUE
    • Assassination
      • Deathstalker
        • Deathstalker’s Mark has been updated – Garrote applies 3 stacks of Deathstalker’s Mark to your target, unless Deathstalker’s Mark is already active. You learn Mark for Death. When you spend 5 or more combo points on attacks against a Marked target you consume an application of Deathstalker’s Mark, dealing 120% Plague damage.
          • Mark for Death: Move your active Deathstalker’s Mark to your target. 10 yard range, 20 second cooldown, 25 Energy, and not on the global cooldown.
          • Developers’ notes: Mark for Death is intended to be a tool to allow Deathstalker Rogues to move their Deathstalker’s Mark to a new target in a scenario where their primary target hasn’t died, such as a priority add appearing. The cost is intended to be affordable, but meaningful. We want the target you choose to mark for death to remain an important investment.
    • Subtlety
      • Deathstalker
        • Deathstalker’s Mark has been updated – Shadowstrike applies 3 stacks of Deathstalker’s Mark to your target, unless Deathstalker’s Mark is already active.
