We have some very happy players getting the new Turbulent Timeways mount way ahead of time! The Chrono Corsair seems to really be messing with time as it’s already been spotted in the game, despite requiring 5 weeks to get normally.
The Good Kind of Time Travel
Normally, the Chrono Corsair is the reward from the Master of the Turbulent Timeways III achievement. This requires you to get the
Mastery of Timeways buff for 5 individual weeks during the event. However, we have several reports of players just getting the new mount as a drop after a seemingly random number of dungeons! This was first reported to us by The Pardue on X. They managed to get both the mount and the achievement after only 7 Timewalking dungeons! They didn’t do anything special for it, just queued for the dungeons and got the mount the seventh time around!
However, that wasn’t the only player getting to play with the pirate dragon ahead of time. Lazy_Cake999 also got the Corsair, also just randomly from the end of a Timewalking dungeon! They needed around 20 for the mount to show up, getting it as a drop from the final boss in Freehold.
It seems the achievement has a chance to progress when a Timewalking dungeon is completed. What is clear is that players are getting the ultimate Turbulent Timeways commitment reward after a certain number of dungeons run, and the number seems very inconsistent!
We’ll see whether/how fast Blizzard jump on this with a hotfix, and whether those that got the mount get to keep it. For now it’s just a cool little extra for those venturing into the timeways early!
