Player housing arrived alongside the launch of Midnight, but the true star of the housing show is obviously decor. Placing decor is what truly makes a player house feel cozy and lived-in. Learn all the ins and outs of decor placement, the decor farming philosophy, and the Decor Catalog in our full guide, or read on to discover how best to plan your furniture farming route and maximize your profits in the decor crafting game.
Housing Decor GuideWhere To Farm Decor
Player housing decor is intended to be a reward from engaging with the game in a variety of ways. Midnight rewards decor from almost everything; quests, exploration achievements, random treasures, Delves, dungeon bosses, and raid bosses all offer new furniture for your home. However, nabbing decor from old content takes a little more planning.
Most players will find that they are missing the bulk of their old content decor from vendors, quests, and boss drops. Player housing items were grandfathered into pre-Midnight content, but many of us have had no reason to stop by old vendors or run old instances. Decor farming is certainly one way to revitalize some of those old zones, though!

Before embarking on a furniture farming adventure, browse your Decor Catalogue to identify the pieces you are targeting. Decor rewarded from completed achievements was placed in your Housing Inventory when you logged in after Midnight’s release (or housing early access), but sourcing other pieces will take some time. In order to identify what you are missing, consider a housing addon meant to enhance the catalogue, like DecorDrops, HomeDecor, Home Bound, Decor Vendor, or Housing Decor Guide. These addons offer wish list or tracking options designed to make farming decor a much easier feat.

Planning your farming by zone is the simplest way to ensure you are methodical. This way, you can visit the reputation vendors, complete quests, and knock out any dungeon or raid runs you need all at the same time for each zone on your list. Start with the Classic zones, and work your way up through the expansions. Thankfully, decor drops from bosses are guaranteed to be 100% upon your first kill. Unlike that Invincible farm, you will not need to keep returning for any furniture farming!
What Sells in Decor Crafting
Crafted decor is a fast-moving market. Players are building, rebuilding, and decorating all the time. In fact, many communities run housing decor contests every month, ensuring that decor will continue to be an excellent source of gold for crafters. Midnight decor, in particular, will likely sell very well! It is new, very detailed, and is still extremely costly to craft.
The most popular large, expensive furniture items are things like unique bed models and especially fountains. Players typically do not end up purchasing more than one or two of these items, but because they require more lumber and other materials to craft, the prices are generally quite high. On average, you will find yourself waiting longer for these big ticket housing items to sell, but each sale will net you a lot of gold.

Smaller, cheaper crafted items are often those that players will use multiples of throughout their builds: rugs, wall hangings, pillows, food items, and of course, lighting. Experienced builders have found some decor pieces to be particularly good for mimicking other things; for example, the Kirin Tor Skyline Banner (a Tailoring recipe) twinkles with small stars, and is often placed behind other decor pieces to mimic sparkles or starry skies.

Lighting is often hidden behind furniture, wall decor, and even walls themselves to drastically change the mood in an area. In fact, one of the most popular crafted items on North American servers continues to be an Engineering craft, the Schmancy Goblin String Lights. These lights cost only 1 in the decor budget, and, most notably, are some of the only lights that can be placed outside. These lights always sell quickly, and often in multiples.
Before investing in the decor market, decide if you want to put more of your time into decor with higher average sale prices, or those that sell faster. Often the most expensive pieces are slower to sell, but you will see less expensive items move much quicker.
Lumber Economics
When monitoring decor prices on your server and region, be sure to keep lumber in mind. Though you cannot charge directly for lumber (because it is a Warbound item), taking the time to farm lumber cuts into your time farming other materials. If two decor items are frequently popular sellers with similar prices, but one costs significantly more lumber to produce, you should always put your time into the other craft in order to maximize your efficiency and profits.
