Patch 12.0.5 is already revealing plenty of new and interesting mount discoveries. A few days ago, content creator MrGM spotted a group of new mounts in the game files, including Gilnean-style horses and two unusual creatures called Arboons.
The data currently lists some of these mounts as Trading Post rewards, and the Arboons as in-game shop mounts.
As always with datamining, these sources could still change before the patch goes live. However, it is fun to see what might be coming to the game soon.
New Gilnean Horse Mounts
Four new horse mounts with a clear Gilnean theme appeared in the Patch 12.0.5 files. The designs follow the darker Gilneas style, with heavy armor and a look that fits well with Worgen or Gilnean characters. The claw marks, especially, are giving each of the four variants a certain dark yet fitting aesthetic.
The mounts currently listed in the data are:
- Gilnean Iron Charger
- Gilnean Copper Charger
- Pyrewood Rebel’s Rouncey
- Gilneas Loyalist’s Rouncey
MrGM shared a preview of the mounts on X:
Two New Arboon Mounts
The patch data also revealed two mounts called Arboons. The creatures have a strong ape-like look, which might especially appeal to players who enjoy that kind of fantasy creature style, similar to the Monkey King or Wukong-inspired designs that appear in many other games.
The two variants currently listed in the files are:
- Blossomback Arboon
- Amberback Arboon
At the moment, both mounts appear in the data as shop mounts.
Keep in mind that mount sources can always change during development, so it will be interesting to see where these mounts finally appear once Patch 12.0.5 arrives on live servers.
Gilnean-themed mounts always tend to get attention from players. Gilneas itself has a lot of history in Warcraft, and a lot of players still hope to see more story around the kingdom one day. These mounts might simply be cosmetic additions for collectors, though the theme will probably leave some wondering if we might eventually return to Gilneas again.
