We’re back to raid stats, but this time it’s a cross-section of most played and most damage! AttitudeAdjusterSE returns with their awesome graph, placing all the DPS specs in their quadrants based on both how many players play them and how well they’re doing on damage.
75th Percentile Mythic
The data is from the 75th percentile, so not too high, not too low. The damage is averaged out to show the actual changes from the average DPS, and we can see the spec are pretty close! With only a 6% difference to the top spec and 5% to the bottom, things are looking pretty balanced.
The Specs
Completely unsurprisingly, we see Retribution far, far ahead in the vertical axis, as it’s the most played not only in this percentile or in the raid, but in the entire game. They’re only 1% above average here, but we’ve seen them spike in the overall and top percentile rankings this past week after the Delve belt tuning pass, so things are looking up in the damage department too! Balance is the only other slight outlier in terms of popularity, but it’s doing very poorly in the damage department. But at least it’s a beast in Mythic+!
The top damage is pretty much the same as we already saw in the higher percentiles, with Devastation just running away with it. Marksmanship and Destruction are relatively close, and we then see the extremes that Survival is in. Down at the very bottom in popularity, with less than 5,000 playing, those few players are doing it right! Sitting in 4th, the Hunter is at the opposite end of the spectrum from Retribution vertically, but they’re very close horizontally. At the very bottom overall, we find Augmentation and Outlaw, with slightly below average DPS for the Evoker but almost as many players as Survival. The Rogue has a few more players, but is doing quite a bit worse on damage. And at the bottom of the damage side of things, very unsurprisingly, find Frost Mage, down at the -5% mark, with surprisingly many players.
So, where do you sit on that chart? Popular spec bad damage? Unpopular spec good damage? OR something in between?
