After more than a decade, the account of Byron “Reckful” Bernstein, one of World of Warcraft’s most popular streamers, has been unbanned by Blizzard!
Permanent Account Closure in 2014
In 2014, his account was permanently banned for what appears to be account sharing.
Blizzard CS later confirmed the permanent closure on Twitter.
Reckful later released a video explaining why he was suspended from the game.
Honoring Reckful: The Rogue Who Changed WoW
For those unfamiliar with Reckful, Byron “Reckful” Bernstein was a beloved WoW streamer and Rogue legend who passed away in July 2020 at age 31. His influence and personality shaped an entire era of WoW, and Blizzard even honored him in-game later that year by adding the “Reckful” Rogue Trainer to Stormwind’s Cathedral of Light.

What’s Happening Now?
Now, 11 years since the ban, Reckful’s original WoW account has been restored and is now in the hands of his friend, Barry. Barry plans to stream from the account, sharing memories and celebrating the legacy of one of World of Warcraft’s most influential players. Thanks to N_Tys26 for the screenshots.
Here’s a short clip of Barry with access to the now-unbanned account.
