Rextroy Pits 40 Paladins Against 40 Evokers in a Massive Showdown

YouTuber and PvP mastermind Rextroy has returned with another chaotic large-scale experiment—this time unleashing 40 Paladins versus 40 Evokers in a colossal battle. Known for pushing the limits of class balance and coordination, Rextroy once again rallied players from across EU realms to settle the question: who would triumph in a full-scale war?

The Strategy

Pulling off the event was no small feat. Rextroy spent roughly 20 hours recruiting, scouring multiple realms to assemble enough willing participants. His target was 60 Paladins and 60 Evokers to allow for absentees, but in the end, he secured around 60 Paladins and 43 Evokers, filling a few gaps with Mages to even things out.

Recruitment wasn’t the only hurdle. The /who tool bug made whispering players nearly impossible, as right-clicking one name often selected another entirely. Despite this bizarre technical setback, the armies were eventually gathered at the Field of Strife, and the battlefield was set.

The Battle and Outcome

At the start, Evokers dominated, raining devastation across the field with Deep Breath iconDeep Breath. But as the war dragged on, the Paladins adapted, relying on Divine Shield iconDivine Shield, Blessing of Spellwarding iconBlessing of Spellwarding, and clever use of line-of-sight (LOS) to turn the tide. Ironically, the Evokers’ own terrain manipulation may have contributed to their downfall, creating obstacles that the Paladins exploited.

While some rounds had uneven numbers as players left and couldn’t be re-invited mid-battle, the fights remained surprisingly close—with the Paladins narrowly securing victory in the end.
