Druids! Season 3 and Legion Remix Spec and Group Popularity

Starym's Avatar by Starym

It’s time for a combo update as we dive into both retail and Legion Remix Mythic+ to see which specs are getting played the most! We have some Druid action in the solo Remix composition and overall charts. Guardian gets more playtime, while over in retail there’s a new top group composition! Let’s get into it

Mythic+ DPS Logs, Week 10.5
Raid DPS Logs, Week 10

The Data

The data used in this article comes from Raider.IO‘s excellent analytics tools, taking into account all Mythic+ runs across all levels of play. The data is focused on this past reset and not on the season as a whole.

The Most Popular Specs in Legion Remix

We see a break in the dark purple at the top, as Guardian pierces the Demon Hunter dominance and moves to 2nd place. Vengeance didn’t drop too far off, however, and Havoc is far above every other spec, having gained 0.5% since last week! The tanks are still very popular, despite the new DPS and healer buffs, but we do see Retribution make it into 6th, breaking up the all tank block and moving past Prot Warrior and Brewmaster.

And here are the exact numbers, including total runs.

Group Composition Popularity

The solo group charts are exactly the same, with the tanks joined by the two DPS, Havoc on top and Ret almost at the bottom. The first actual group is still quad-tank + Havoc, as are the next three. We do see a break in the pattern in No.5 and No.6… with a full tank comp! The highest keys are getting completed with a normal group setup, however, the usual tank + healer + 3 DPS.

The Most Popular Specs in Mythic+

Back on regular servers, we see Beast Mastery still very much on top, but all three top 3 specs dropped a lot of players. BM is 0.6% down, while Frost DK and Resto Shaman lost 0.5% of the total playerbase. Resto Druid grabbed some of those players, moving past Havoc, as Destruction also moved into Arcane’s No.10 spot.

We’re up to 22s since last time we checked in, and there’s already some variety there, with 8 specs getting it done, compared to +21s 18 specs.

And here are the exact numbers for the specs, including total runs, which dropped by about 320K since Remix’s launch.

Group Composition Popularity

We do see a new top group composition here, with Havoc taking over that final DPS spot from Retribution. The old No.1, sporting Prot Warr, Resto Shaman, Frost DK, BM, and Ret is down a full 1%, while the third most popular group remains stable, replacing the Shaman with a Druid.
