The sixth week of Mythic+ this season is over, and Nightstalker314 takes a look at the data provided by Raider.IO. Since it was a dungeon event week, the week-to-week drop-off was relatively small. The increased activity in the lower key levels, combined with the worst affix, dragged down the overall success rates. Higher keys saw less progress compared to previous weeks. This might be due to the Fellowship playtest over the weekend. While Ara-Kara improved slightly, it is still quite behind, and no further tuning has been announced so far. Let’s look at some more details.
Weekly Total Run Performance Compared To Other Seasons
Across all regions, drop-offs are just 1.1%. Comparing just the four regular regions, we are looking at 1.18%. Three weeks of almost stable numbers are quite unusual. However, a major dip is expected in week 7. After a dungeon week, the drop-off usually turns out a lot bigger than on average.

Looking at the global metrics, we can see that China has almost solidified a 48% share by now. Once the Turbo Boost starts, this could shift by a few more points and tip the region over 50%. Though we can’t really tell how big the effect of the Legion Remix will be per region. This time, it’s staggered a bit more compared to Pandaria Remix in DF S4. That season was also seen as rather insignificant by many, and M+ activity dropped by 30% back then.

Total Runs Across All Dungeons
The overall split has decreased once again. Regardless of global numbers or regional split, the range is just 3 percentage points from most to least favorite dungeon. The order changed slightly again. Eco-Dome and Halls have swapped again. Probably because last week, a lot of players took the chance to boost their Halls rating after the nerfs. Gambit and Floodgate also swapped. In this case, the former is just much easier. There’s also less interest in farming the trinket from Floodgate later in the season. Dawnbreaker might have fallen behind Priory due to ongoing and frustrating bugs. And Ara-Kara is dead last once again.

The overall success rate dropped by 0.85 percentage points, down to 83.65%. Given the bigger interest in lower keys for the event quest, the impact of Ascendant as the worst affix is showing once again. Combined with Fortified, it turns trash pulls or key level 7-9 into a worse experience overall. Eco-Dome (89.16%) ended up just ahead of Gambit (89.06%), which might take the crown within the next few weeks. But the latter also benefits from the smaller impact of Fortified first in a 5-boss dungeon. Streets of Wonder is still doing well at 87.86%. Slightly behind, we have Halls of Atonement at 85.04%. It dropped quite a bit from last week. The massive pulls in the first half of the dungeon suffered from the affix combination.
The Lower Half
Dawnbreaker is leading the lower half at 82.38%. Healers have a lot of pressure during the first boss. And the collision bugs when landing on the airships are mentioned constantly. Priory (79.23%) and Floodgate (79.08%) have both fallen below 80% this week. The former is always suffering from this specific affix combo, since you have to manage a lot more timed CC. Both dungeons had been performing a lot better last season and might need a few more nerfs. Ara-Kara (75.47%) didn’t see much of an impact from the affixes. The trash count and required damage on certain pulls (reduced damage taken) continue to call for more and more nerfs.
Split Across All Key Levels
72.54% of all runs were completed at key level 10 and higher. 31.99% on key level 10 alone. These metrics have decreased slightly due to the dungeon event. Regardless of region, key levels 2 to 5 saw an increase of 11% to 45% in activity, relative to the split in the previous week. And contrary to the expectation, Chinese players actually saw a larger relative boost to their lower keys.

Activity in higher keys didn’t jump as much from week to week this time. Normally, runs at level 13+ would rise by at least 20%, sometimes up to 7x. This week, all the factors would drop below 1 for levels 13 and 14, and peak at just 4 for the highest key levels. It seems that, especially in this region, players shifted their focus to trying out Fellowship.
Success rates dropped significantly for key levels 4 to 11. Ascendant continues to be the worst affix and should see some tuning in Midnight. The drop-off going from key level 6 to 7, with Fortified becoming active, grew from 7.7 points in the previous week to 9.07. This is a constant trend that needs to be addressed to improve M+.
Conclusion and Week 6 Forecast
The season is going well, but persistent issues continue to attract attention on themselves as long as the devs don’t address them. Be it specific dungeon tuning or persistent bugs, or general issues with affixes. There are no major changes for M+ announced for Midnight. The devs should focus on improving these general problems.
As of this writing, almost 150 hours after the US reset, hourly numbers are quite behind. But this is the usual effect after a dungeon event week. Numbers in the US, EU, and CN have fallen between 17.66% and 22.14% so far. We might see 20% in the round-up next weekend.
