The Patch 12.0.5 is under testing, and several Promotion items have received Trading Post prices! This means these items will be available on the Trading Post in the future. This follows up on Blizzard’s recent responses regarding Promotion items.

More Promotion Items to Eventually Hit the Trading Post
There has been a substantial increase in the number of promotional items in WoW over the past few years. Sites like Today in WoW are dedicated to tracking this ever-increasing number.
There has been a recent promotion that sparked a lot of discussion in the community: the German Pringles promotion for the
Thunder-Ridged Elekk mount. With a purported 3000 codes available for redemption, there was a lot of competition for this mount. This even included scalpers selling codes for hundreds of dollars.
After the community response to the very limited number of codes, Blizzard released a blue post outlining their plans to eventually move Promotion items to the Trading Post for those who missed their rewards the first time around.
Making Promotional Mounts Widely Available
We’ve recently monitored a situation where a limited promotional mount ended up being much less available than players expected. However, we have a good plan for future access to the mount.
Since the introduction of the Trading Post, we’ve considered each new promotional mount to be destined to eventually become available to players via the Trading Post. This allows us to first offer a new mount to a specific community, such as a single country, as a promotional item that has limited availability, and then later remove its ‘limited’ status altogether.
It is our plan with each new limited promotional mount to bring the mount to all players at a later date in the Trading Post, and if we deviate from that plan, we’ll let you know.
Since then, there have been more limited Promotions, such as the recent Egg Farmer’s Backpack promotion from IGN. The codes were gone in a little under one hour after our report.
With the increasing number of promotions, adding them to the Trading Post is a decent idea. However, this runs into another issue: the limited number of Trader’s Tenders players can get versus how many items are already added to the Trading Post each month.
What is your opinion on promotions in WoW? Are you looking forward to promotion items in the Trading Post?
