Skip Half of Black Temple! Farm Illidan’s Warglaives Faster During WoW’s Loot Event

It’s the age of the Legacy raids for a month in WoW as the Collector’s Bounty buff rages. And while most players are focused squarely on the many mounts with the big drop buff, there are some that have their eyes on a more legendary prize. This one also has a bonus, as Burning Crusade Timewalking is active for another day or two. And you’ll need that to finalize your transmog!

Get your BT run down to about 5 minutes!

The Warglaives of Skip-Half-the-Raid-zzinoth

Obviously Black Temple is one of the focal points in this month’s loot event due to Illidan’s legendary warglaives. However, don’t forget that BT also holds some of the best transmog out there as well. But once you’re done with a run or two and have all the armor and weapon looks you can carry, you may want to focus on the glaives.

The drop rate buff is so significant that you really should go and get the Warglaives of Azzinoth iconWarglaives of Azzinoth, for the achievement but also for the option to wield them if you do end up playing DH in the future. And for that purpose, you may have to play a DH in the present! You can technically also do this with an Evoker, but you won’t be unlocking the transmog appearance that way, as you have to actually wield the glaives to get the achievement.

Also, once you do get and wield them, you’ll need to wait for the next Burning Crusade Timewalking event. Unfortunately, the current one ends with this weekly reset, so you don’t have much time. You can complete it next time it comes up. All you have to do is complete a Timewalking Black Temple raid by defeating Illidan. The important part is getting the glaives and equipping them, the Timewaking part can wait as it’s guaranteed.

Supremus to Mother Shahraz

The skip is actually pretty simple. You still have to beat the first two bosses. But after you take down Supermus on his little hill, you can skip right to the 2nd-to-last boss. You just use your double jump/jump and glide after entering the temple itself to get up on the chains. Demon Hunters have an easier time of it with double jump, but Evokers can also get it done with a bit more effort. As usual the awesome WoW community has you covered with some visuals, courtesy of conaan, with added commentary. They showcase the skip with an Evoker, but you’ll want to do it with a Demon Hunter so you can actually equip the glaives (and there’s a DH video below as well).

Hover forward, then flip a 180 and hover a second time back towards the slope that the chain connects to – conaan
Jump up the chain and onto this rafter – conaan
Glide/Hover across to the chain that DH’s usually double jump up, then hover into the concubine trash area – conaan

Here’s the video for Demon Hunters as well:

It’s a very large skip, avoiding four bosses in the raid and the majority of walking around. Considering how much easier the clear is, it really might be worth it for you to just level a DH up (you don’t even have to go all the way to 80) just for the glaive drop chance buff during the event.

Good luck with the glaives!
