The Meta Emerges: Warrior Switch-up and More in M+ Week 4 Logs

Starym's Avatar by Starym

We have a very significant week on our hands, as it seems things have finally settled down. Most of the top 10 spots remain stable, with the exception of the two Warrior specs seeing a giant changeup, as Fury gets a hotfix that propels it to the top, and Arms drops like a stone.

Warcraft Logs Points

The below logs are based on POINTS, and not actual damage or healing. This means that they log the timed completion for the specs, with higher keys getting more points, obviously. The time in which the dungeon is completed is also a factor. It is a much, much smaller factor, however. It grants only a few points for significantly faster completions compared to just any in-time finish. We’re also using the Normalized Aggregate Scores numbers, for clarity. This means that the top spec is marked as 100 and then the rest are ranked in relation to that peak point.

95th percentile DPS

It seems things have leveled off in the early-season gearing-up process! We have a very stable top 6, with everyone remaining in their spots, but Arcane and Frost DK pulling away slightly. Down in 7th, we see Fury continuing its rise, mostly on the back of a stealth hotfix to its 4-set bonus, making Reap the Storm iconReap the Storm procs much more reliable. It’s a huge 13-spot move, from all the way down in 20th, and we’ve seen it surge in raids recently as well. And that’s quite literally it for the top 10 changes. It seems as one Warrior rises, another must fall, as Arms sees an unprecedented 15-spot drop from 10th all the way down into the bottom 3. Beast Mastery is still at the bottom, but with this week’s tuning should help with that quite a bit, possibly even putting it at the very top!

All Percentiles

We see Fury arrive here as well, up in 7th spot, gaining 13. Arms shares the same fate as the upper percentiles, as it seems everyone just switched over. The other Warrior drops right into dead last, losing 12 spots. Outlaw takes over Assassination’s spot behind Balance, as Marksmanship remains stable (aside from the one-spot drop to accommodate Fury) at the bottom of the top 10. Augmentation makes it out of the bottom 3, courtesy of Arms.

Very High Key Raw DPS Numbers

Note: We’re also taking a look at the raw damage numbers from Mythicstats. They take the top runs for extremely high keys (+13-19) from WarcraftLogs and list the overall DPS for the dungeon, which includes non-combat time as well. They’re ranked by the average DPS numbers, with the very top of the top shown next to it.

Arcane moves its way up into the top 3 in the top key raw damage charts as we see them stabilize at the +13-19 range. We also see the Fury/Arms switcheroo here, with the former gaining 21 spots, as the latter drops 10. Outlaw is also doing significantly better, replacing Subtlety this time in 5th. Assassination drops a large 6 spots, but still clings to the top. Marksmanship and Unholy are also on the rise, and we see Destruction fall to the bottom of the top 10.
