There really is one to rule them all when it comes to group compositions. We see the top comp pull away even further, with No.2 rising as well, forcing all other group combos down even further. There’s also plenty of news for the individual specs. So, let’s see what’s getting played in the dungeons!
The Data
The data used in this article comes from Raider.IO, taking into account all Mythic+ runs across all levels of play. The data is focused on this past reset and not on the season as a whole.
The Most Popular Specs in Mythic+
We have a bit of a shocking development, as Retribution… didn’t rise this week! Not exactly earth-shattering, but considering how long the Paladins have been climbing, a rest was warranted. Vengeance also remains in place, while Discipline and Resto Shaman drop 0.2%. Arcane picks up the slack and moves past Marksmanship, continuing its climb and becoming the second-most played DPS spec. Survival managed to get out of the bottom 3 with its buffs. However, the tuning will take a while to kick in, as players switch to specs only after it’s been established if they’re actually better post-tuning.
We see more +21s showing up and spec diversity expanding with them, as we see Shamans, Rogues, and even a Warrior or two play at the highest levels!
And the raw numbers, including actual run numbers.
Group Composition Popularity
Last week’s “through the roof” comment for the dominating composition was not correct, as Vengeance/Disc/Unholy/Balance/Arcane moved way past that roof and are building a couple more floors! The group has gained more than 1.5% of the total pie with the 2nd most played composition also moving up to almost 10%! The rest are all below 5%, and all of them dropped even more this week, as the top 2 devour everything.
