The big Blood Elf zone rework is the centerpiece of Midnight’s launch, and many things are very different. Luckily, we have an intrepid Alpha enjoyer who took it upon themself to showcase all the changes between the original Quel’Thalas and the new version in the expansion!
IllidanS4 went through the zones piece by piece, from Eversong Woods to Silvermoon, and Sunstrider Isle. The big city takes center stage, of course, but we’ve seen plenty from it in official screenshots. From simple texture and visual upgrades to actual changes in the environment as the countryside heals from the Scourge’s attack all those years ago, there are many impressive changes to see. And yes, that portal in Thalassian Pass at 0:22 does lead to the old Burning Crusade version of the region.

Personally, the change that most affected me is the removal of the Sunwell raid entrance, as that was my last “serious progression raider” raid. What’s your favorite change?
