It’s time to peek into the dungeons, as we’ve had a few days of the Season go by already. These are very preliminary rankings, especially since a lot of players are still sporting their Season 2 tier sets, which in some cases break things a little (looking at you, Affliction). We’ll see how things change as the gear levels increase, but for now, let’s take a look at where things are.
Warcraft Logs Points
The below logs are based on POINTS, and not actual damage or healing. This means that they log the timed completion for the specs, with higher keys getting more points, obviously. The time in which the dungeon is completed is also a factor. It is a much, much smaller factor, however. It grants only a few points for significantly faster completions compared to just any in-time finish. We’re also using the Normalized Aggregate Scores numbers, for clarity. This means that the top spec is marked as 100 and then the rest are ranked in relation to that peak point.
95th percentile DPS
Things are VERY even at the very start of the season, as we’re not seeing too high keys completed, and so most dungeons are getting cleared with a high success rate, putting all specs close to the 100-mark, at least in these high percentiles!
But even with that, there are some that stand out! Affliction is sitting on top of both the dungeon and raid standings, as it’s getting a particularly good use out of its Season 2 tier set bonus! We’ll see how much that lasts, as the item levels go up and those have to be replaced. Balance remains a staple of Mythic+, quite literally remaining in the same spot as last season! Arcane is also very stable between seasons and snags the No.3 spot. Assassination is doing a lot better in the season, moving quite a few spots up. We then have a very rare occurrence as the Evokers join forces, Devastation coming out on top for now. Elemental is also a big winner of the new tuning, both here and in the raid, with Shadow coming all the way up from the bottom into 8th. Havoc is also much improved, and we see the other two Rogues hanging out just outside the top 10.
It seems there must always be a Hunter at the bottom, as Survival replaces Beast Mastery this time around. Fire remains low this season as well, with Arms joining the two specs after doing quite well last season.
All Percentiles
The generalist bracket has a lot more deviation to it, as non-top players fail keys a lot more! Affliction is still on the top of the world with the old tier set, but we do see the old raid No.1 move up a lot here, as Devastation is doing a lot better than last season, and then in the high percentiles. Subtlety is also doing better, sitting just ahead of the Death Knight tag-team, which closes out the top 10. Fury is also doing better, sitting close to the top 10. The bottom 3 is the same as in the top percentiles, with Arms and Survival switching places, the Warrior getting the rough end of that deal.
Specific Keys
We’re looking at some stats up to +12s, as the logs get very thin up there!

Very High Key Raw DPS Numbers
Note: We’re also taking a look at the raw damage numbers from Mythicstats. They take the top runs for extremely high keys (+10-15) from WarcraftLogs and list the overall DPS for the dungeon, which includes non-combat time as well. They’re ranked by the average DPS numbers, with the very top of the top shown next to it.
Things are quite different in the very top keys, with Assassination coming out on top, but Affliction is very close behind. Outlaw is also doing a lot better, which is now standard for these top charts, as is Demonology. Beast Mastery also makes an appearance in the top 10, as does destruction, making it all three Warlocks at near the top – just like in the raid.
